Moroso é lieta di presentare nuovamenteil tavolo ed il sistema di librerie disegnatidall'artista danese-islandese Olafur Eliasson al Salone del Mobile 2017.

«Il concetto del prototipo é derivato dalla Green Light di Eliasson- lampademodulari ed impilabili basata sul triangolod’oro, che possono essere unite e formare sculture luminose, o ambientimodulari estesi.La lampada modulare é al centro del ‘Green Light-An Artistic Workshop’ di Eliasson, un progetto creato in collaborazione con Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary. Iniziato nel 2016 al TBA21-Augarten, a Vienna, Green Light - An ArtisticWorkshop, invita rifugiati in ricerca di asilo a partecipare nella costruzione di lampade in comunitá e offre un programma d'apprendimento di varilivelli ed argomenti tra cui corsi di lingue,job training, seminari e collaborazioni con vari artisti. Il progetto offre una piattaforma per lo scambio di informazioni ed esperienze, assieme ad un modo per esplorare nuovi modelli comunitari. Dá uno spazioper discutere ed affrontare le attualitágeo-politiche tra cui l'immigrazione a livello globale e dare una metaforicaluce verde ai rifugiati in cerca di asilo.

Moroso is pleased to display again a tableand a shelving system designed in 2017by the Danish-Icelandic artist OlafurEliasson at Salone del Mobile.

«The prototypes are derived fromEliasson’s Green light – a stackable lampmodule based on a Golden Triangle that can be combined to form luminoussculptures or sprawling modularenvironments. The lamp module is central to Eliasson’s“Green light – An artistic workshop”, a project created in collaboration with Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary. Launched in 2016 at TBA21–Augarten, in Vienna, Green light – An artisticworkshop invites refugees and asylum seekers to participate in the communal construction of lamps,and hosts a multifaceted learningprogramme that includes languagecourses, job training, seminars, and artist’s interventions. The projectoffers a platform for the exchange ofknowledge and experience, as well as forthe collective exploration of new modelsof community. It also provides a forum fordiscussing current geopolitical issuessurrounding global migration, shining a metaphorical green light to asylumseekers and refugees. Eliasson brought“Green light – An artistic workshop” to the 57th International Art Exhibition –La Biennale di Venezia.

Sia il tavolo che il sistema di librerie, realizzati da tavole di multiplex e acciaio verniciato,si basano sulle formegeometriche della lampadaGreen Light. La libreria é statapensata attorno allo spazionegativo del rombo, delineato dai moduli, e il tavolo fa riferimento alle forme dei moduli incorporandoframmenti della loro geometria. Come le lampade, i tavoli sono stati ideati come moduli:possono essere uniti creando una superficie esagonale,allineati creando una fila a zig-zag o uniti alle puntecreando una stella.»

Both the table and the shelvingsystem, made of multiplex boardsand painted steel, are based on the geometry of the Greenlight module. The shelves are built around the rhombic negative spaceoutlined by the modules, and the table refers to the modulesform by incorporating fragmentsof their geometry. Like the lamps,the table was developed asmodules: they can be combinedinto a hexagonal surface, lined up to create a zigzag row, or puttogether to create a star shape.»

Josh is designed with theintention to be lived and as aplace where to spend the day. It is the main player in the livingroom where everything starts. It fits perfectly in a city loft asmuch as in summer housesthanks to its natural touchcoming from the cotton enrichedwith a stitched patternreminiscent of the traditionalJapanese futon and the printedlinen ikebana graphics.The result is a beautiful matchbetween rough natural fabric andlatest printing technology.»

La famiglia Lilo si amplia,mantenendo le citazioniprovenienti dallo stilescandinavo, dall’idea modernistadegli anni ’50 e dal lavoro deigrandi maestri del design adattandole ai nuovipezzi: chaise longue e duepoltrone. Un’estetica bold,mutuata dalla robusta struttura in legno che sostiene il peso delle imbottiture, posizionatesecondo un’ergonomia chegarantisce il supporto ideale a ogni diversa zona del corpo. La chaise longue, sorretta da una struttura in legno a tubolari è stata pensata con un solobracciolo per facilitarne laseduta. Le due nuove poltrone Lilo,differiscono, dalla versioneprecedente, nella partesuperiore. In una il poggia testaviene ridotto nelle dimensioni,senza rinunciare al confort e rendendola più adattabile in diversi ambienti; l’altra in versione wingchair vienearricchita da un poggia testa più generoso nelle dimensioni e imbottito ai lati che avvolge chi si siede donandogli massimacomodità e intimità.

The Lilo family welcomes its newmembers, that preserve thereferences to the Scandinavianstyle, the modernist idea of the50's and the works of the mastersof design, adapting them to the new pieces: a chaiselongue and two armchairs.A bold aesthetic, transformed by a robust wooden frame thatsupports the upholstery weight,positioned ergonomically so thatit provides the ideal support to each area of the body. The chaise longue, supported by a tubular wooden frame, was conceived with a singlearmrest to ease the seating. The two new Lilo armchairs differfrom the previous version in thetop half. In one, the headrest’ssize is reduced, without forfeitingcomfort , making more suitableto different environments; the other wingchair version is enriched with a headrestwhose generous proportions and upholstered sides embracewhoever lays down, providingmaximum comfort and intimacy.

The Mathilda series finds new variations, introducing twonew stools (different in height),an armchair and a dining table.These products are characterisedby a coloured strip, which seemsto wrap all the structuralelements together: the tablestand to its top, the armrests to the structure of the armchairand of the stool. The construction of this chromatic play on colourallows diverse combinations of texture, material and colour.

Mellow is the new soft furniturearmchair developed by FedericaCapitani for Moroso.The backrest gently envelops the rounded seat and creates in one generous gesture a relationship to the ground. Mellow’s smooth shape acts like a shell that snugly hoststhe user, its asymmetricalconfiguration is inviting you toseat in different configurations,from upright conventional or casual for the office and publicspaces to a relaxed lay downposition for the home.Federica Capitani’s ongoinginterest in drawing minimalmonolith forms is synthesizedwith Mellow, where backrest,seat and feet are combined to create a distinctive armchair.Using carefully chosen textiles,Mellow’s surface provideswarmth and texture to the hand.

Si incontrano con tecniche di cottura giapponesi centenariedall’affascinante ed inimitabilecarattere basato sulla probabilitá.Ogni mattonella è lavorata a mano 36 volte prima di essereusata e posizionata. Il colore della base in acciaio segue la colorazione base della singolamattonella ed il piano in vetrosimboleggia la lented’ingrandimento per questidiamanti.

THE SETTING OF A NATURAL DIAMOND

The shape of TAIRù is based on the deep fascination for KARAK Tiles and the idea to give these tiles a propersetting: a base made of steel that holds these diamonds and enhance their beauty.The tiles witness an interplaybetween elements and symbolisehow a relationship between East and West acquires form.Appealing, geometricalornaments are the result of repeating digitally developedgraphic patterns. They encountera centuries-old Japanese firingtechnique with a fascinating,inimitable character based on chance. Each of the tiles is hand crafted 36 times before it is used and laid in place. The color of the steel settingfollows the base color of theindividual tile and the glass top symbolises the magnifier for these diamonds.

La collezione Tape usa nastroadesivo in poliuretano per unirepezzi di tessuto piú piccoli, i qualiverrebbero altrimenti scartati nel processo di imbottitura e trattati come scarto dilavorazione.

La tecnica trae ispirazionedall'industria sportiva, dove il nastro adesivo é usato nellarealizzazione di snowboard, sci e indumenti per la pioggia.

Il Tape sofa – il primo divanomodulare progettato da LAYER – è costituito da unaserie di blocchi modernisti chepossono essere uniti per crearecombinazioni contrastanti ocomplementari cosí da soddisfarepiú tipologie di spazi e stili. Ogni mattoncino modulare – sedute, schienali e braccioli –è suddiviso in pannelli di tessutopiú piccoli i quali sono uniti dalnastro in poliuretano. Le tasche – collegate al modulodei braccioli con il nastro –possono essere usate percontenere fogli, giornali o telecomandi.

The Tape collection usespolyurethane tape to bondsmaller pieces of textile together,which would otherwise bediscarded in the upholsteryprocess and treated as waste.The technique was inspired bythe sporting industry, where the tape is used in theconstruction of snowboarding,ski, and wet-weather gear.

MIx ‘N’ MATCH

The Tape sofa – the first modularsofa designed by LAYER –comprises a series of modernistbuilding blocks that can becombined in various contrastingand complementarycombinations to suit a diverserange of interior spaces andstyles. Each modular block – seat, backrest, and arms – is subdivided into smaller textilepanels which are bondedtogether using polyurethanetape. Pockets – which areconnected to the arm modulesusing tape – can be used to gather and store papers,magazines, or remote controls.

«My first ever chair for Moroso was theSoft Big Easy - a revisit - a soft version of the metal Big Easy - a hard volumeparaphrasing an overstuffed Club Chair.

Nice to see another revisit! The 3 Skin Chair was first made in 3 carbon fibre formed skins and laterthin plywood skins bonded together to become two legs ,a seat and a back of a dining chair - a hard dining chair. In the revisited 3 Skin, the skins became a bone... a bone to be fleshed and skinnedby coloured felt.Great! Now we have a colourful soft new family that we somehow know!»
