API & Pipeline VPC General This program is designed to provide a vertical canned pump, Type VS6, with a standard

scope of supply that is compliant to API 610 9th and 10th edition with applicable comments (refer to page 16).

Pump The pump is of the double casing vertical diffuser type. The pump scope of supply

includes discharge head, bowl assembly, suction can and column length to suit the specific application, performance test and hydro test of discharge head, suction can and bowls.

Facility These pumps will be manufactured at our Taneytown, Maryland, USA facility. Pricing These pumps are priced at market level. The current multipliers listed here are for Philosophy use with this program only and are not intended to be used for other vertical

constructions. If price negotiations are required, please forward your request to the Oil & Gas Customer Service Group.

Minimum acceptable multipliers: End User and Contractor = 0.69 Distributor = 0.64 Mechanical seal quotations = 1.30

Motor quotations = 1.20 Affinity You will only need to use Affinity for the selection of the hydraulics that the application requires and general arrangement drawing. DO NOT USE AFFINITY

FOR PRICING. Only use this price book for PRICING. Be sure to select all of the appropriate product line constraints before using this package.

Features such as internal drains and upgraded materials will affect pump performance and sizing.

Specifications The scope of supply furnished under this program is based on API 610 specifications. If

CUSTOMER SPECIFICATIONS apply to the inquiry, they must be reviewed and the appropriate comments added to the bid. Otherwise, the bid must include a statement that the customer specifications do not apply.

Quotation Tools A price makeup sheet and scope of supply sheet are available in Excel format. Copies of

the file are available on Passport or from the Product Specialist. Documentation The VTP and VPC documentation submittal schedule Excel program (separate from Schedules this SSP) should be used for determining submittal delivery dates.

API VPC GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The API Process VPC is a vertical process pump of the "double casing type VS6" as defined by API-610. By multi-staging series stages in the medium specific speed range, the VPC provides outstanding efficiencies and low cost operation in high head applications. The special First Stage allows operation with extremely low NPSH requirements while running at optimum speeds. Exclusive hydraulic and mechanical features provide continuing reliability with optimum performance.

DESIGN FEATURES COMPACT The vertical process pump requires much less valuable floor space than the typical horizontal pump. It is easily adapted to parallel and/or series operation with a minimum of additional piping. A minimum amount of work is required for installation. LOW NPSH FIRST STAGE A standard low NPSH impeller is used for handling volatile liquids near their vapor pressure without elevating the suction vessel, excavating a pump pit or going to a costly double suction, between bearings horizontal pump. Flowserve utilizes the "Y" first stage as standard in all VPC pumps. This specifically designed (between bearings) impeller provides shockless fluid entry because of its optimized eye and impeller vane inlet angles that are designed to match the series stage flow rates. The "Y" impeller is not to be confused with so-called "large eye" impeller often used by others. This is where an oversized series impeller is used, far to the left of its design point to reduce NPSH required. METALLURGY The basic materials of construction are per API-610, 10th Edition, Table H-1. PUMP ELEMENT The pump case and series impeller are cast of high quality materials. The cases are fitted with renewable sleeve bearings located above and below each impeller, which have a minimum length over diameter ratio of at least 2. All impellers are supported between bearings. Each impeller is dynamically balanced and split ring, drive key mounted. All pump cases have rabbited fits for alignment and are sealed with "O" ring gaskets. Each series case is furnished with renewable wear rings. NOZZLE HEAD The fabricated steel head has ANSI Class 300 raised face flanges. The top flange is machined with a male rabbited fit to receive a NEMA "P" base vertical solid shaft driver. No doweling or fit-up is required in the field. The head is fitted with an all steel rigid spacer coupling. It has a spacer which can be removed without disturbing the motor or pump connections. The spacer is long enough to allow replacement of the mechanical seal as a single cartridge. All pipe connections used for vents will be ANSI Class 300 or they will be flanged to the same rating as the nozzle flanges.

SUCTION CAN The fabricated steel suction can is provided with a flange at the top which fits to the discharge head and is sealed with an "O" ring gasket. The inside diameter if the suction can is sized so that the maximum velocity of the pumped liquid will not exceed 5 feet per second. The suction can is designed for a minimum hydrotest of 400 PSI. COLUMN SPOOL PIECE When NPSH requirements dictate lowering first stage impellers, spool pieces are added to lengthen the column. They are fabricated of low carbon steel. A fabricated bearing retainer is fitted into the upper end of each piece. This ensures that the retainer is parallel and concentric with the spool piece for exact bearing alignment. The bearings are the same as used in the pump element. The connections between spool pieces to the pump element and to the discharge head are aligned by rabbited fits and sealed with "O" ring gaskets. Guide bearing spans are per API-10th Edition, section 8.3.6.1. SHAFTING The pump shaft throughout is constructed of Type 416 stainless steel (316SS for A-8 materials) and one piece for lengths up to 20 feet. It is turned and ground precision shafting of ample size to carry all imposed loads. PRESSURE CASING Design The design stress values for any given material are per Section II of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Pressure casings comply with the applicable design rules of Section VII, Division 1, of the ASME Code. Manufacture's data forms, third party inspections, and stamping as specified in the code are not required. The VPC is designed to meet the corrosion allowance as given in API 610, 10th Edition, paragraph 5.3.7. Welds are accomplished by ASME Section IX code certified welders. Seal Chamber and Mechanical Seal The seal chamber and mechanical seal are designed to meet API 682 specifications. Also, the seal chamber incorporates a guide bearing. MOTOR RECOMMENDATIONS The motors are usually vertical solid shaft NEMA "P" standards with sufficient thrust capacity to provide B-10 bearing life at 50% of design capacity and at least 30% momentary upthrust capacity. Motor can be furnished in any specified enclosure, voltage, hertz, horsepower and speed.

The standard material which shown in above table is as per API 610 table H.2. As per notes in table H.5 in API, API 5L Gr. B may be used as an alternate material if purchaser agreed. Hence Taneytown recommend CSOA to quote deduct for API 5L Gr.B in every bid. Variable Speed Application: Pipeline systems require a change of flow or pressure and this can be achieved by changing the speed of the pump. If pump uses an AC electric motor as the prime mover, then speed can be controlled by using a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). The Advantages for using VFD are energy savings, improved process control and improved system reliability. Variable Speed operation precautions are structural resonance and rotor dynamics. Structural resonance could result in excessive vibration which results in damage of equipment or impact to environment. It is advisable to include structural analysis which is normally Reed Critical Frequency and Rotor dynamic analysis which includes Torsional analysis. Lock out speed ranges may be required, depending on results of the analysis. MAWP: The components which constitute pressure casing of vertical can pump (VS6) are the discharge head and suction can. Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP) is maximum continuous pressure for which the manufacturer has designed the pump, when handling the specified fluid at the specified maximum operating temperature. As per API 610 10th edition MAWP shall be at least the maximum discharge pressure (per clause 5.3.1 & 5.3.2) plus 10% of the maximum differential pressure and shall not be less than a minimum gauge pressure rating of 40 bar (600 PSI) at 38 Deg C (100 F) or at least ISO 7005-1 PN50. If customer specified then pump shall be designed for 740 psi MAWP (300 #), however FSG standard as per API 610 10th edition is only 600 psi. As per clause 5.3.6 pumps may be designed for dual pressure ratings. This means Suction regions either designed for suction pressure or if specified, suction regions shall be designed for the same MAWP as the discharge section. However Flowserve standard is design suction region for suction pressure only. Nozzle Loads: Nozzle loads are net forces and moments exerted onto the pump nozzles which have a direction in relation to how the system piping and equipment are designed and supported. Allowable nozzle loads risks are excessive piping forces and moments can spring a pump or pull it out of alignment with the driver. Misalignment often leads to more vibration, reduced bearing and seal life, increasing associated maintenance cost and down time. API nozzle loads are more Robust design versus other industrial standards due to higher MAWP & API’s specified corrosion allowances lead to increased wall thickness and thicker base and mounting flanges of pressure casing. Also API required weld neck flanges provide higher nozzle loading capabilities then threaded or slip-on welded flanges. Pipeline industry trend for maximum allowable nozzle loads and hence industry requirement is 2 times API nozzle loads.
