This previous application, developed around Lotus Notes, no longer met the stringent needs for analysis of sales initiatives and thus needed to be re-developed and updated to meet the growing demands for accuracy and reporting. The Solution DATA Inc. analyzed the client requirements and developed the “Sales Force Automation Solution” – an Intranet application for analyzing and presenting sales data. Utilized by sales personnel, the solution pro- vided the full spectrum of information through standard and custom reports and graphs. Queries could also be imported into spreadsheet solutions such as Microsoft Excel for additional analysis. DATA Inc. utilized its core IBM and Microsoft technology teams, allowing for fast development, implementa- tion and ongoing support and maintenance for the project which included the conversionof all sales data from an AS400 DB2 database to a MS SQL Server database. The Result The Sales Force Automation solution led to increased efficiencies and allowed all sales personnel from the Vice President down to identify new opportunities and refine their sales tactics.
