DAY PORT ARRIVE DEPART 1 Arrive London -- Upon arrival in London Heathrow Airport you will proceed through passport control, collect your bags and then through customs into the Arrivals Hall where you will meet your local Representative who will direct you to your coach for your transfer into the City. Upon arrival at your central London Hotel you can check in and the rest of the day is at leisure. (Note: check-in time is 3pm, if your arrival is prior to 3pm arrangements will be made to store your luggage). 2 Free Day in London (or Optional Stonehenge, Bath, Stratford and the Cotswolds Tour) 3 London Sightseeing & Downton Abbey Extravaganza……This morning after a full English breakfast we board our private Open Top Bus for a sightseeing tour of one of the world’s most historic and fascinating cities - London. We will see the icons of London – Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, the Tower of London and much more. Enjoy some free time afterwards and perhaps a late lunch as we will be dining light later at Highclere Castle. This afternoon we depart London for an exciting visit to Highclere Castle – where Downton Abbey is filmed. (Ladies in cocktail dress and gents in jackets). Built by Sir Charles Berry who also built the houses of Parliament, this is the country seat of the Earls of Carnarvon. Upon arrival we enjoy a Champagne and canapé reception at the Castle, local expert guides will be on hand to answer questions and recount Downton Abbey anecdotes. Enjoy a tour of the Castle’s public rooms including the magnificent public main hall, the library and sitting rooms in addition to other rooms featured in Downton Abbey. After a grand evening with our fellow “Lords & Ladies” we return to our hotel in London. 4 The Princess Cruise -- This morning enjoy a full English breakfast after which you have some free time to take in a little shopping or sightseeing on your own. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an annual series of Military tattoos performed by British Armed Forces, Commonwealth and International military bands and display teams on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. Each year has a 'lead' service from the British Armed Forces, alternating between the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force. The highlight of every Tattoo however continues to be the massed pipes and drums, provided by regiments of the British Army and visiting civilian and military pipes and drums from around the world, although primarily from Commonwealth nations with Scottish connections. Each evening traditionally concludes with the massed pipes and drums marching on to join the massed military bands.

Come and marvel at the huge 40ton Sarsens and the volcanic blue stones that were brought from Preseli Mountains over 280 miles away. Discover the mysteries that surround the slaughter stone and see the numerous earth barrows where the beaker people lie buried before heading through the Salisbury plains towards Bath. Bath, a world heritage site, is a beautiful Georgian city with delightful crescents, terraces and architecture. There will be plenty of time to shop and explore before we enjoy a drive through the Cotswolds. As we head north to Stratford we drive through the heart of the Cotswolds, taking in breath-taking views of open countryside criss-crossed by dry stone walls and bustling market towns with magnificent perpendicular churches. Birthplace of William Shakespeare, the greatest writer in the English language and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company. Stratford is a charming market town set in the heart of rural England. A delightful river winds its way through the town, past the beautiful Holy Trinity church, where Shakespeare lies buried. Our tour includes an exclusive visit to Shakespeare's birthplace before we enjoy Champagne and Strawberry scones, served in his picturesque garden.
