Allah ~Successful Youth Mentor, Published Author, and Community Activist~ Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 6 th , 1975 to Lois and Philip Frank, Saladin is the Great-Great Great Grandson of the Rev. Josiah Henson; a forerunner of the Underground Railroad who established a Community for fugitive slaves in 1836 called The Dawn Settlement, and founded the British-American Institute in Dresden Ontario, Canada in 1842. Harriet Beecher Stowe was inspired by Henson and used elements of his life to write her famous anti-slavery novel “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” in 1852. Saladin attended LaSalle Senior High School from 1989- 1993 and was a 3-letter athlete in basketball, football, and track. He was a star basketball player for the LaSalle Explorers under the tutelage of ‘Pistol’ Pat Monti, was voted all All-Western NY in football as a defensive back/wide receiver, and went to the State Championships in Track & Field as a sprinter four (4) years. After graduating from LaSalle Senior High School in 1993, he went on to attend Central State University (CSU) in Wilberforce Ohio; a NAIA Division 1 HBCU where he was recruited for Football and played Wide Receiver from 1993-94. While at CSU he majored in Therapeutic Recreation, was an active participant in the highly competitive Intramural Basketball Program at CSU, and still continues to play basketball recreationally and instruct/promote the character building elements of basketball to area youth since his return to WNY. After Saladin attended CSU, he returned back to the WNY Area and began to successfully developed as a Performing Artist, Youth Mentor, and Writer. In 1999, his name was legally changed to ‘Saladin Quanaah’ Allah’ (Meaning: The Honorable Faith and Fragrance of The God) in accordance with the NAME CHANGE Civil Law & Statues of New York State. Since then, he has also been instrumental in helping other people change their name in New York and other States around the Country.

Saladin Q. Allah

~Successful Youth Mentor, Published Author, and Community Activist~

Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 6th, 1975 to Lois and Philip Frank, Saladin is the Great-Great

From 2000-2004, Saladin began began to

publish Articles and be featured in various

National & International Publications such as;

The Five Percenter Newspaper (NYC),

Black7.org (United Kingdom), and MWU

(muslimwakeup.com). In 2004, Saladin Allah

founded A.S.I.A.; a Cultural Institution based in

Niagara Falls, NY that promotes educational

programs, literary works, community initiatives,

and audiovisual projects for youth. In conjunction

with A.S.I.A., Saladin founded L.I.F.E.

(Learning Interactive Fundamentals Everyday); a youth mentorship program he operated at The Niagara

Falls Family Resource Center, The Niagara Falls Public Library, and The Niagara Arts & Culture Center

(NACC). He also created an A/V & literary production Co. called Quahadi Music/Quanaah Publishing.

In 2005 Saladin was featured in the Niagara Gazette Article to and through his L.I.F.E. Program,

Saladin produced a Documentary featuring

three of his Students called ‘The Three

Wisemen’, and created a collaborative

‘Family Tree Project’ with the Washington

DC based Company African Ancestry Inc.

(Washington, DC) by providing 20 Families

with Matriclan DNA Kits to trace their

Maternal Ancestry. He also started a Prison

Correspondence Project, and completed an

Educational CD with his students called

‘Street Knowledge’ that highlighted various

life skills students learned within his L.I.F.E.

Program. Also in 2005, Saladin created:

A.S.I.A. Journal; a bi-monthly Online Journal that highlights his social commentary, satirical

insights, and current events.

A.S.I.A. TV; a popular Online Vlog highlighting his practical advice, social commentary, satirical

insights, and interviews.

A.S.I.A. Talk; an Online Radio Show interviewing guests about various socioeconomic issues, and

current events.

“Founding ‘A.S.I.A.’ and implementing my ‘L.I.F.E. Program’ was a way to solidify my ideas, and

develop the Community Networks to support the growth & development of our Youth!” -Saladin Allah

In 2007-2008, Saladin helped edit/publish/graphically design the fiction novel Da God written by

EMBLEM, and wrote/published five critically acclaimed Books of his own; A.S.I.A. Journal Volumes 1-

3, Tales of an Urban Sufi and Love, Hell or Right;

The Trials, Triumphs & Teachings of Relationships.

In 2008-2009, a segment of Saladin’s social

commentary was used on National Recording Artist

“AZ’s” Album ‘I Am Legend; G.O.D.: Gold, Oil &

Diamonds’, and he worked as a Program Consultant

for The History Channel ‘Gangland Series’ Show

about The Hidden Valley Kings. On February 6, 2008

Saladin was also featured in a Buffalo News Article

‘A New Sense of Self’ highlighting his Family Tree

Project.

On April 4, 2009, Saladin was quoted in a

Niagara Gazette Article as a Volunteer for the

10th

Annual Male Summit. On June 11th, 2009,

the Niagara Gazette did a feature Article

‘League Of Their Own’ in the Sports Section

about the Youth Power Spring Basketball

League he organized at The Niagara Falls Boys

& Girls Club for youth ages 14-17. Saladin was

also featured on the Oakland, CA Online Radio

Show ‘Barbershop 360’ Program called ‘The

Secrets to Higher Learning’. Saladin has also

been Interviewed and appeared on various Daily Podcast Builds for Original Thought Online Metazine

(New York, NY). On Sept. 11, 2009, Saladin and his brother released the music soundtrack ‘Brothers

from Another Planet’. In November 2009, Saladin was invited to say a few words to the Youth along

with County Legislator Renae Kimble, and City Councilman Charles Walker, at the 2nd Annual

'Midnight Madness' Fundraiser Event sponsored by The NCBP (Niagara Christian Basketball

Program).

From 2010-2011, Saladin worked as a youth mentor teaching a

‘Passport to Manhood’, ‘Game Plan’ and ‘Smart Girls’ curriculum

through the ‘Youth Power Program’ at the Niagara Falls Boys &

Girls Club, and organized the second annual Youth Power Spring

Basketball League. On February 19, 2010 Saladin was a Guest

Speaker for a Youth Black History Month Event at Christ

Redemption Tabernacle in Niagara Falls, NY. On February 25,

2010, Saladin and other local artists were featured in a Niagara Gazette Night & Day article ‘Hip Hop for

Haiti’; a Fundraising Event for the Earthquake Victims in Haiti. On February 28, 2010, he was a Guest

Speaker at NYS Senator Antoine Thompson’s Community Leaders & Stakeholders Breakfast.

In December of 2010, Saladin helped

edit/publish/graphically design Niagara Falls Author

Rasheed Carter’s First Novel Young Savage. In 2011,

Saladin published his sixth and seventh Books; How to

Change Your Name Without a Lawyer and

Explorations of God/Earth Mental Health. On

November 19, 2011 Saladin, along with Operation

S.N.U.G. (an Anti-Violence Group), participated in the

Niagara Charter School Stop Bullying Event at

Whirlpool State Park. October 13, 2011 he was a Guest

Speaker at the GPS To Success Event at South Seattle

Community College and Meet & Greet/Book Signing at Life Enrichment Bookstore in Seattle, WA. In

December of 2011, Saladin released his long awaited Solo Album ‘The Emerald Tablet’ and he helped

edit/publish Author Rasheed Carter’s second novel.

In 2012, Saladin organized two collaborative Black

History Community Events in his City: Black Wall

Street (with Brothas Buildin: Seattle, WA), and Locked

Up, But Not Locked Down (with Supreme Design

Publishing: Atlanta, GA). Also in February, he helped

organize the 4th Annual African-American Art

Exhibition (NACC), and was one of the Guest Speakers

at a Stop The Bullying Community Rally in June

(Niagara Falls, NY). Saladin published his eighth and

ninth Books: his first

novel ‘Experiments

with High Explosives; The Chronicles of a ‘Big Headed’ Scientist,

and ‘The Beholder’; A book of poetry, prose, and philosophy. In the

Summer he taught a FREE 8-Week Young Writer’s Program at the

Niagara Falls Public Library where five local youth were able to self-

publish their writings in a book called Our World. He also created a

2012 College Preparatory Educational Program and Black

College Tour; a fundraiser where he sponsored two local high

school youth on tour of Historical Black College and Universities

(HBCUs) in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. area.

In 2013, Saladin organized various Community Events/Forums at the Niagara Falls Public Library to

celebrate Black History Month, International Women’s Day, and helped edit/publish/graphically design

Niagara Falls Author D. Scott’s first book Stay in Your Lane. In February and March he organized three

Community Events at the Niagara Falls Public Library: Hidden Colors, Hidden Colors 2, and Life is

But a Dream. He also created a Universal Street Academy Reconstruction Project; a fundraiser

to help support the reconstruction costs of a Youth Academy in Philadelphia, PA.

Presently, Saladin continues to operate his Prison Correspondence

Program, publish articles through his website A.S.I.A. Journal (that has

been celebrated/listed as one of the Top 100 Websites going into 2012 by

United Black America Online, post vlogs on A.S.I.A. TV, and work with

authors seeking to self-publish their writings. He was an Active Member of

Toastmasters International (Cataract Communicators), the Humanities

Club (Buffalo, NY), and the Healthy Me Committee (Seneca Niagara

Casino & Hotel) who has helped organize events, health fairs, and health/wellness activities for his team

members, and Online Wizpert Life Consultant for people

suffering with addiction, depression, and other

mental/emotional health issues.

On July 4th

, 2013 Saladin announced his candidacy for

Niagara County Legislature, and created the Niagara

Youth Party via the nominating petition process. The

Niagara Youth Party emphasizes unity in our families and

community, and it’s "four pillars", which serve as guiding

principles, are youth outreach, crime prevention,

localism, and health and wellness. In addition to his

campaign, Saladin also continues to support arts & culture

programs/projects, and youth/community outreach initiatives as a volunteer, financial contributor, and

public speaker around the country.

Saladin is a proud Father of two beautiful daughters,

Asiyah; who earned an athletic scholarship in lacrosse

at Howard University (Washington, DC) where she

will be pursuing a career in Forensic Psychology,

andAziza; a sophomore honor student who plans on

attending a Culinary University upon graduation with a

goal of being an entrepreneur supporting local business.
