SAL is a Braille tutor that students can use independently or under a teacher’s supervision. With SAL, students complete interactive lessons by placing embossed paper overlays on a TTT, then press down on words and characters in response to spoken prompts. Activites include: timed searches for letters and words, reading passages with multiple choice questions, and games. Speech instructions are provided for each exercise, and students work at their own pace. Teachers can track student progress and generate reports for school records. SAL and the TTT have been developed though a series of research grants from the United States Department of Education, the National Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research, and the National Science Foundation. • Word Tracking High Frequence Words $95 By the time the student completes these exercises the student will be familiar with the 500 most frequently used words in the English language.
