From the Desk of Mrs. Izzi
Right before Spring vacation our junior robotics pupils participated in a Robot Block Party at Brown University. This event featured over 50 exhibitors from area public, private and parochial elementary and secondary schools. At this exhibition pupils demonstrated their robots and had an opportunity to meet many students from other schools. The St. Rose Robotics group is run under the direction of our technology teacher, Mrs. Julie Nathanson. I want to take this opportunity to thank her. Her willingness to give her time to this co-curricular activity allows students to be creative and learn about science, technology, engineering, and math.
As pupils return from school vacation this upcoming week we will be having a dress down day on Wednesday for A-T Children’s Project., a Non-Profit Organization. Andrew who is a graduate of St. Rose suffers from this rare genetic disease called Ataxia-Telangiectasia. You can visit their website at www.atcp.org/doughboydash for further information.
Lastly, as Spring has finally arrived I am happy to announce that St. Rose of Lima School will be offering two sessions of the Tim Welsh Basketball Camp this summer. Please refer to the next page of the bulletin for details and registration information.

Mrs. Rachael Czephya
Thank you to everyone for such a great 2017-2018 Religious Education year. The year will come to an end for our Monday night classes on April 23rd and our Sunday Classes on April 29th. Our 10:30 Mass on April 29th will be a Children’s Mass and hosted by grades 2-4.
Thank you to all the wonderful teachers for giving their time and talent to the youth of our parish. Without these hard working individuals this program could not happen. I look forward to working with you all next year. There is always room in the program for anyone who would like to join us. If you are interested in sharing your time and talents with our youth next year we would be happy for you to join us.
In the next coming weeks we will have some important and exciting information to share with you about our program for next year. We are looking forward to revealing a new format and are excited to share our new program with you.
First Communion students will rehearse for First Communion on May 1-3rd from 4:30 - 5:30. Please meet in the Church Hall. It is very important for your students to attend these rehearsals so your student will be prepared for what to expect during Mass. Please remember that your Pew banners are due on May 1st.
First Communion will take place on May 5th at 11:00 am. The students should meet in the hall by 10:00 am for class pictures. Individual pictures are also available by Bob Fontatine. If you did not receive information about the pictures please see Mrs. Rachael Czephya.
Vacation Bible school will be taking place from June 25-29th Vacation Bible school runs from
9am to 12:15 pm. Children age 3-10 can participate please stop by the Church office. You can leave your completed registration in
an envelope and place it in the collection basket or leave it at the Church Office.
Any adults that would like to join us are also welcome to volunteer for the week. It truly is great fun watching the children discover their faith through interactive games and science experiments. If you are interested or want more information about what you might be doing please see Mrs. Rachael Czephya.

What is your calling?
Baptism makes Christian stewards of us all. We may act explicitly on God’s behalf in cultivating and serving the portion of the world entrusted to our care, “if one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part is honored, all the parts share its joy” (1Cor12:26).
Serving Opportunities in Our Parish:
• Visit Nursing Home Residents. We are looking for individuals who are interested in visiting with, reading to, and sharing stories with local nursing home residences on a consistent basis. Please contact Mary Donnelly to help us create this new outreach program at [email protected] or 401-732-7814.
• Share your Music. Music is joy. Please consider sharing your joy at our Table of Plenty serving sites. You may perform on either the 2nd Tuesday or 4th Friday of the month from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, once, monthly, or as you like. Contact Deb Nelson if you are interested at [email protected] or 401-465-8165
• Issues and Action. As Catholics, we are part of a community with a rich heritage that helps us contribute to greater justice and peace for all people. If you are
interested in helping to form the role of our Parish in the
moral and social teaching of the Church in order to help
build a better world, please contact Justin Puckett at
[email protected] or 401-545-3252.
