St. Vincent Haven (SVH) was dedicated Dec. 13, 2009 in Newark, Ohio. SVH is a privately funded 26 bed emergency and transitional shelter for men who are homeless in Licking County. Services are geared to assist residents toward self-sufficiency and independent living on a permanent basis. Volunteer and funding support from local businesses and citizens allow the shelter to provide safe shelter, support and advocacy. Assistance is provided to residents to help them find employment, improve educational skills, address mental health, health or substance abuse issues. All services rendered by the Haven are free of charge. With the opening of the St. Vincent Haven, great strides have been made to meet the needs of men who are homeless in our community. From January 2010 through December 2018, SVH served more than 1,600 unduplicated residents, providing over 80,000 nights of safe shelter. The St. Vincent Haven Charity Golf outing has raised more than $161,000 for the Haven. Continued funding is critical to sustain the Haven operation and we hope to make this year’s event a huge success. Please show your support and pull together a foursome of family and friends for a day of fun at the Denison Golf Club at Granville. Charity support has never been this easy and fun. Many prizes will be offered for placement and participation.
