THE NATIVITY OF ST. JOHN
THE BAPTIST
JUNE 24, 2018
As many of you know, I am going through some health challenges that are requiring many tests and evaluations (pokes, prodding, scans, etc.) I have received more attention from more doctors than anyone deserves. But more amazing is the outpouring of prayers, cards and well wishes that I have received from so many of you! I am at a loss for words to say or write to describe my gratitude for your kindness. I can only promise that all of you at SVBS continue to be on the very top of my prayer list, that God will bless you and your loved ones and continue to aid you in your growth in holiness. I’ll keep you informed as to what all the docs have to say and what is coming next. You continue to be good to each other, and remember, nothing is more important than becoming holy! May God Bless Us and May Mary Keep Us Always in His Love!

Our Sanctuary Candle, next to the Tabernacle, will illuminate this week in memory of Kathleen Crumley at the request of her sister, Teresa.
A Family Perspective by Bud Ozar The question in today’s gospel, “What will this child be?” concerns all parents. We spend years trying to influence and shape the answer, hoping our children will be “strong in spirit” like the Baptist, and “blessing God” like Zachariah.
Important Reminder We are committed to the safety of all children here at our parish. In light of this, please do not allow children to leave worship services unattended. If your minor children need to leave during Mass (bathroom, illness, etc.), they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All ushers have been instructed to return children to their seats if seen unattended. Thank you for remembering this important responsibility!
