St. Vincent de Paul Society St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a volunteer organization following the mandate of Jesus to his disciples to care for the poor and marginalized. The organization provides various direct services to those in need. Laverne Siters is a wonderful example of such discipleship! One of the many things following Christ has lead her

to over the past three years was to be President of the Society of SVDP at St. Lucie. During this time Laverne lead the conference to bring God’s love and mercy to families living in the parish area: providing food to 1,147 families, helping with utility bills to 481 families and assisting with rent for 183 families. SVDP needs your helping hands! Consider volunteering for a few hours per week as a Thrift Store worker, driver, grant writer, or especially, a home visitor. If you think that you might be interested in this compassionate ministry please phone 878-8474 and leave a message.

DR. CAROL RAZZA SEMINAR AT ST. LUCIE ON DECEMBER 10th!

The Spirit of Truth Prayer Group is bringing back Dr. Carol Razza for a seminar, Saturday, December 10th, 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM in the Fr. Hickey Parish Center. There will be a charge of $20 which includes lunch. Registration is on November 26th & 27th after all Masses. The theme is “Growing in the Spirit” and is based on The Scripture reading from Ephesians 4:15-16: “Rather, living the truth in love, we should grow up in every way into Him who is the head, Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, with the proper functioning of each part, brings about the body’s growth and builds itself up in love.” Please phone Ann Drzal should you have questions: 772-878-0411.

REGISTERING FROM PEW ENVELOPES We are grateful that the white pew envelopes are being used for those who forget their offertory envelopes but for new parishioners requesting “I want to register” located on the envelope, please provide a legible phone number in addition to your name(s) and address so that you may be contacted. Be sure to PRINT. We do our best to contact you to complete your registration. Sometimes we begin this process and send you the paperwork to complete and return to us. If you receive such paperwork, PLEASE return it to the Parish Office or drop it in to any offertory basket. Use of a pew envelope does not mean you are necessarily registered, even if you use them often. If a donor wants contributions to be recorded, they need to be posted to an account number that belongs to the donor. If there is a question regarding your registration status, please phone the Parish Office at 878-1215 and we will be glad to check!

PLACEMENT OF MISSAL IN PEW Please remember to set your missal in the pew rack with the binder side down. This will protect the plastic casing-cover. Aycock Funeral Homes has been extremely generous in providing our missals throughout the year. They purchased the casings - covers for us too. We want to take care of their gifts.

If you find an item in the church or parish hall, please return it to this plastic bin so that it might be claimed.

MAKING BEQUESTS TO ST. LUCIE CATHOLIC CHURCH

“As generous distributors of God’s manifold grace, put your gifts at the service of one another…” (Peter 4:10)

As Catholics, we try to be Good Stewards of the many blessings God has bestowed upon us. We also strive to be good short term and long term planners, so that our loved ones, and our Church and other charities are recipients of these blessings. Effective estate planning not only avoids future difficulties, but more importantly, honors our directives in aiding the people and institutions that are under our responsible care. Remembering St. Lucie Catholic Church will continue the Lord’s saving presence to us and to our families in so many wonderful ways: the celebration of the Eucharist and other Sacraments, the religious education of our youth and adults, our ministries with the sick, the poor and the homeless, and the upkeep of our parish facilities. Consider including our parish in your estate planning – it is a joy you can plan ahead for!

Next Saturday…

("Diario #367, p. 178)
