THE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION that will be

taken up during the Masses for Christ-

mas, is for our general parish fund. In

years past this collection was used in dif-

ferent ways and at one time it was given

to our priests as part of their remuneration. The dio-

cese changed that many years ago and has designated

that this collection serve the general parish fund. It is

in other words a person’s or family’s Christmas gift to

their parish. Again, I thank you most sincerely for

your generosity to our parish both at Christmas and

throughout the year. May God bless you in abun-

dance for all that you give to Him from your hearts!

those who have no one to pray for them.

Please note that when schools are cancelled in

either Somerset or Swansea

during the winter season:

Our 8:00am weekday Mass will be cancelled

Our parish office will be closed for the day.

Our faith formation classes will be cancelled

Notice will be placed on all

television stations WCVB, WHDH & FOX 25

Television notices will be for both weekday

You will need a sponsor certifi-

cate to give to the pastor of

the parish that the sacrament

will be celebrated in. Sponsor certificates are issued

from the parish that you are presently attending

(i.e.. not the parish you were baptized or confirmed in). Universal

church requirements for being a sponsor are found

on the bulletin boards near the church entrances.

Sponsor certificates are issued by Fr. Dave after a

weekend Mass. Please try to approach Fr. Dave as

soon as you are asked. If you were informed of this

at the last minute please call the parish office be-

fore the weekend to be sure that Fr. Dave will be

available after the Mass you are attending. Thank
