Holy Cross Ministries-Summer Camp

Parents—Summer is coming fast and it is time to make plans for

programs for your children! Holy Cross Ministries is registering

for summer camp at McPolin Elementary this year. Camp runs 9-

2:30pm, includes breakfast, lunch, transportation by PCSD Mon-

day-Thursday June 18-July 25. Morning activities emphasize liter-

acy and math skills; afternoon activities are focused on recreation,

arts and summer fun. Cost for the program is $100. For

Summer Mornings with the Holy Spirit

Join with a group of men and women from the parish

any Wednesday morning this summer for Mass, refreshments,

and faith sharing. Our faith sharing will be centered on a 14 part

DVD series called The Wild Goose, a Celtic name for the Holy

Spirit. In this professionally filmed and cinematographically

stunning series, Fr. Dave Pivonka, TOR will lead you on an

unforgettable journey around the world and into the very heart of

God. Discover the immense power and beauty of the

unconditional love of God that is the Holy Spirit. You may attend

sessions as you wish, but the first three sessions set the foundation

for the rest of the program. After watching each episode, we will

share our thoughts and reflections with each other over a cup of

coffee. Come Holy Spirit! If you are interested in this summer

KNIGHTS CORNER– Father's Day is on the horizon.

As we do each year, as part of our Fraternal activities,

St. Mary’s Council will host a Father’s Day BBQ on

our Social Hall patio after 9:30 Mass on Sunday, June 16th. Let’s

give Mom a break and Dad some special recognition on His Day.

Monday, June 11 Council is conducting an Admission Degree

Ceremony (Sp.) at Old Town Chapel. 7PM; candidates 6:30 PM.

Thank you to all who helped the Carmelites last weekend; as a

parish we did great with sales, well beyond expectations.

Food Bank Our Food Bank (FB) patrons have specific staples that

they use regularly. At this time we are really in need of vegetable

oil, tuna, corn flour (masa), spaghetti noodles, canned fruit

(pineapple, peaches, mandarin oranges), and white rice. Please

consider donating these requested items. Thank you! Please

We have been cleaning and it appears many First Communion or Confirmation pictures have not been picked-up through the years. If you never picked-up your pictures between the years 2005-2018, please come during office hours 8:30am to 5:00pm, so your picture albums will be complete.

Hold the Date - Retirement Party for Fr. Stan Herba

Please plan to attend Fr. Stan Herba's Retirement Party and Parish

Picnic on Sunday, July 15. A special mass will be held at 11:30

am at the White Pine church and a reception in the parish center

social hall will follow after mass. More information to be

announced soon.

Mary V. Cass of the lay Catholic Movement – the Focolare

Movement – a gospel based spirituality of communion in the

Church - is presenting a glimpse into the Windrider Forum, a

unique cultural and ecumenical experience at the Sundance Film

Festival that fosters a dialogue on some of the most challenging

issues in our culture today. This meaningful event boasts more

than 200 students from 15 universities and colleges throughout

the country. Parishioners at St Mary’s have been much valued

supporters of Windrider at Sundance by providing host homes for

the students from Catholic and Christian institutions. If you have

the possibility to host students in 2019 or just want to hear more

about this wonderful project please come to St Mary’s, in the gath-

ering spece where coffee is served, Tuesday evening ,

June 12th, from 7 – 9pm.

Holy Cross Ministries—Campamento de Verano

Padres de familia el verano está cerca y es tiempo de planear que

harán sus hijos. Holy Cross Ministries esta recibiendo

inscripciones para su programa de verano que se llevará acabo en

The 2018 Diocesan Development Drive is underway. Our

quota for this year is $11,000.

The DDD is a parish-based, diocesan appeal designated for

operating funds for diocesan ministries. All parishes and mis-

sions in our Diocese conduct the appeal yearly. Blank dona-

tion forms, envelopes and information are at the back of the

church

The Knights of St. Lawrence, Mission of St. Mary of the

Assumption Council 1129 -Wants You!

Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older. We are

committed to making our community a better place, while sup-

porting the St. Lawrence Mission. Being a Knight is more than

camaraderie; it is being involved with your community; it is

supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your

own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family

life.

The Knights of Columbus regular monthly Roundtable, occurs

on the first Monday of every month at 7:30pm in the Social

Space.

St. Lawrence has many ministries in need of your

time and talent . Most ministries only require a

maximum of once a month commitment. Please

look in the back of the church for a list and de-

scription of the ministries and a signup sheet. We have an im-

mediate need for Counters, Greeters, and Coffee and Donuts.

Lector Training will be on June 12th at 6PM See Michelle

St. Mary’s and St. Lawrence are in the process of planning a

retirement party for Father Stan. It will be at St. Mary’s on Sun-

day July 15th after an 11:30 bilingual mass. It will be a potluck

lunch with hamburgers and hot dogs provided on the patio
