FROM YOUR PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is a consultative body whose purpose is to assist Father Brown in carrying out the parish’s vision. The parish vision is, simply put, to get us all into Heaven. Our mission is to build a community in which we can experience the goodness of the Lord at work in our parish and • experience some of that limitless joy awaiting us
in God’s Kingdom. Another role of the PPC is to act as a sounding board for the congregation at
large. In our most recent meeting we discussed:
• Parish members are missing the sounds of the bells before church. We talked about training the altar servers to
ring the bells. • Fostering a family environment at the masses and asking
different families to par cipate in the Presenta on of the Gi s.
•We heard an update from our Women’s Faith Sharing Group. It is a very ac ve ministry with over
30 women registered. The only challenge can be parking during the school day.
•We received an update on our Bereavement ministry and we discussed ways of making the parish
community aware of this important ministry and the great resources available.

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of seeing over 40 children from our parish community receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the very first time. The children's joy was easily visible as they approached the altar to receive Jesus with their parents.
Please keep our First Communicants and their families in your prayers.

Why donate to the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal
(the AAA)?
This is a frequent — and very sensible — question that people ask when we request our parishioners’ help in meeting our AAA goal each year. Why bother? Where does the money go? Why should I give anything if I disagree with the Catholic Church about xxx or yyy or zzz? First, we will always have disagreements about certain teachings or policies. As one wise parishioner told me recently, “If you have five Catholics in one room, you’ll end up with at least 12 opinions on any given subject!” Taking that as a given, we still have work to do, the ministry Jesus gave us when he formed the Church almost two thousand years ago. So, as your pastor, I’ll try to share with you, in this bulletin each week, some of the important ministries your donations make possible. Here we go…Father Brown
Vocations
The Office of Vocations fosters and supports a Vocations Culture in the parishes, Catholic schools and religious education programs of the ADSF. Responding to Jesus’ mandate: “The harvest is rich, but the laborers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his field”, (Matthew 9:37), the Office places special emphasis on prayer resources and discernment materials to help candidates discover their individual calling in life. In addition to the promotion of vocations to the diocesan priesthood and religious life, the Office collaborates with the various seminaries and houses of formation that educate the priestly candidates of the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
