Trinity Sunday Cycle B (Matthew 28:16-20) Real Relationships by Fr. Jeffrey Day On this Feast of the Holy Trini-
ty, we hear Jesus tell the disciples to baptize all nations “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” This means our role as disciples is to encour-age all people to enter into a rela-tionship with the Trinity. But we sometimes have difficulty under-standing the Trinity. The most common question on this feast is, “How can there be three Persons in one God?” Maybe there is a bet-ter question, however. Perhaps we should just take the matter of three-Persons-in-one-God as a given and instead ask, “How well do these Persons relate to one an-other?” So-called reality television programs are constantly being developed that examine the strength of relationships. Bache-lors choose a wife from among many women. Bachelorettes choose a husband from among many men. Who makes the per-fect match? Will the relationship last? These questions seem comi-cal when we reflect upon the Trin-ity. Three Persons perfectly co-exist, making sacrifices for one another. The relationships are eternal; they have no beginning, and no end. Within the Trinity is the greatest love story ever. The good news is that we are invited to join them in this love story. It may not be the stuff of reality tel-evision, but it is reality. The Fa-ther, Son and Holy Spirit are three real Persons, who love one another. Most importantly though, they love us. ©2003 Fr. Jeffrey Day used with permission
All Hail Adored Trinity Our God is a revealing God. We
name God—Father, Son and Spirit. The Trinity attempts to identify our experience of a revealing God. We know nothing about the
Trinity until we experience Jesus on the stage of human history and the Spirit is released in the Church following Jesus' death and resurrec-tion. This is the starting point of our reflection and must always be its anchor as well as its limitation.

Prayer Blankets Prayer Blankets are available at
the front of the churches. Please take them to the sick, the hospital-ized, the homebound, and those un-dergoing difficulties. Fr. Jerry blesses them at Mass,
we pray for the recipients of our blankets at Mass, and even as the blankets are crafted the recipients are held up in prayer. Donations of material are always
appreciated, including children’s patterns and patterns designed for men, especially any kinds of patri-otic patterns. Also, if you like to quilt or knit or sew, please consider joining us. At this time, we are down to just a few blanket makers and we desperately need a few more. So if you might be interested or have any questions regarding our ministry or donating please c o n t a c t F r an Na g l e y a t (419)654-2699 or Pam Smock at (734)279-2688.

Prayer for the Fallen
God our creator and sustainer,
today our country brings to our
memory those who have defended
this nation in times of trouble.
They have sacrificed their lives to
protect our shores
from those who would limit our
freedoms
or enslave us to ways that are
against your will.
Bring all those who have died in
service to our country
into your heavenly presence.
We humbly call down your blessing
on those still serving;
grant your heavenly protection to
these men and women,
and open your Sacred Heart to give
them peace and comfort.
In the name of the Father, and of
the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
CSA Marriage and Family Ministry
Engaged couples across the
Archdiocese of Detroit have been
preparing for summer nuptials
through marriage preparation
programs.
Catholic marriage is a calling
from God to a shared vocation of
life and love. CSA gifts allow the
archdiocesan Office for Marriage
and Family Ministry to advise
couples of the steps necessary to
seek marriage in the Catholic
Church, including completing
marriage preparation programs to
help build a foundation for this
important sacrament.
The office also offers programs
that enrich and nurture couples
in every stage of the family life
cycle.
