FRIDAYS 10:30AM to 12:30PM and SUNDAYS from 9:00AM to 1:30PM

The store is accessible from the exits on the north side of the Church. There is a wonderful variety of cards, Bibles, books, rosaries, statues and other icons available, and the opportunity to special order items not in stock. The store is still in need of volunteers to add to our sales staff, so please consider giving the gift of your time. PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

This prayer dates back to 1886 when Pope Leo XIII wrote it and began to pray it at the end of Mass. We pray this prayer at the end of every Mass here at St. Francis Xavier so that we may be protected against the forces of evil and darkness that roam the world.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan,

and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I give thanks to God for all that you do to provide for our parish through your time, talent and treasure. Provided is the financial statement from January 1, 2020 through October 31, 2020. As you can see we have been put under a financial strain since the pandemic began. Currently our parish is in the red and hopefully we will all be able to turn this around. There is so much that goes into operating a parish daily, but with prayer and trust in God, I am confident that we will be able to get back on the right path so that we will be able to minister well to our brothers and sisters in dire need. Know that you and your loved ones are in my daily prayers. Sincerely in Christ,

Father Anthony

What is a catechist? A catechist is a teacher.

A catechist … doesn’t know all the answers…doesn’t need a degree… enjoys being with

children and sharing their faith

A catechist … works as part of a team … is not a lecturer … knows how to listen … does fun

activities … helps children and youth … celebrates their faith.

A catechist … plans each class beforehand using materials provided … teaches one class for

one and a half hours Wednesday evenings… attends meetings for training and updating.

No experience needed, just a love of sharing our Catholic Faith. Please consider sharing your

faith and your time and talents with the children of St. Francis Xavier Parish. Please call

Michael Reardon at 239-223-4757 if you would like to learn more about this wonderful

opportunity.

Fatima, The Movie – It has been said, 'The Movie Fatima can place beacons of hope in the hands and hearts of all Catholics!' Fatima begins in 1917, outside the parish of Fátima, Portugal, where a 10-year-old girl and her two younger cousins witness multiple visitations of the Virgin Mary, who tells them that only prayer and suffering will bring an end to World War I. As secularist government officials and Church leaders try to force the children to recant their story, word of the sighting spreads across the country, inspiring religious pilgrims to flock to the site in hopes of witnessing a miracle. Fatima, The Movie, is now playing in select theaters, and is also available for home rental. For tickets or more details visit: https://www.fatimathemovie.com/tickets/.

CFA 2021 “Be generous and you will be prosperous. Help others and you will be helped.”

Thank you for so much for your generosity and hard work. I am very proud of all of you who contributed to the 2020 CFA even through the first year of the pandemic. Although we did not make our goal, we were short over $30,000, it was still a good effort. The $30,000 will be taken from our savings to fulfill our commitment. I hope that we will we have a great year so that we

will not have to take from our savings going for-ward. The 2021 Catholic Faith Appeal has already begun. If you made a pledge last year it is possible that you have received early information by mail directly from the Diocese of Venice. I encourage you to submit your pledge for 2021 by return mail, using the forms which were sent to you. As you are contemplating your contribution to St. Francis Xavier please consider making a pledge to help us pay our diocesan assessment directly. The diocesan assessment is based on our regular offertory income at the rate of 26%. Our parish assessment this year is $152,000. Know that your contribution to the 2021 CFA is the best and most efficient way to help our parish. In the memo line of the check please write St. Francis Xavier- CFA 2021. Recently at all the Masses, I gave the homily and spoke about the 2021 CFA and the impact our donations have on the people within our diocese. The envelopes are on the tables at the entrance of the church and I encourage you to complete the envelope and drop it in the collection basket or bring it to the office. Every person counts in the positive for us. Even if it is a dollar, each individual donation is very important. Please use the envelopes and we will mail this for you. May God continue to bless us all and the good work of our parish and school.
