Pastor

In the waning days of winter, when we are tired and crave quiet, solitude and warmth. Consider the comfort of the Novena of Grace. This year centered on the theme of:

Annually, St. Francis Xavier offers nine days of prayer and retreat for those who find themselves weary and longing for God. Grounded in our celebration of the Eucharist, Masses will be held daily for nine consecutive days and feature a reflection by one of our guest presenters (Fr. C. Hightower, SJ and Mary White, LCPC.) There will be live music, and prayers of petition and thanksgiving through the intercession of St. Francis Xavier. We also offer individual prayer / blessings at the end of Mass, as well as the sacraments of reconciliation throughout the nine days. Though the Novena of Grace is a Catholic prayer tradition in Jesuit communities, it is open to people of all faiths. It affords all who participate time to reflect, and to open one’s self to God’s Spirit and the healing grace that rejuvenates and transforms our lives. No sign up is necessary: the event is free and open to all.

Join us!

“Never let me be separated from You.”

Items of Note:

During the season of Lent, we will sing "These Alone are Enough"

as our communion meditation hymn.

This song is based on The Suscipe prayer of St. Ignatius Loyola. The Suscipe is not found in the Spiritual Exercises, but rather was included by Ignatius as additional material in regards to the "contemplation for attaining love" at the end of the Exercises. Ignatius speaks of the immea-surable love of God that is bestowed upon all creation, and then asks what he might offer to such a loving God. We will resume singing the "Anima Christi" at Easter.

Continuaremos celebrando la misa en español una vez al mes. El 11 de marzo la misa en español será en St. Francis Xavier a las 7:00 pm. Ayúdanos a construir juntos una comunidad de luz y de apoyo.

Do you love to sing? Do you want to become more involved in our music ministry? Please join the St. Francis Xavier choir for rehearsals during Lent to prepare music for Holy Week. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the parish center. Please contact Marin Sewell for more information. (406) 560-6385 or [email protected].

If you have a red, choir hymnal that you are no longer using, might you return it to the parish center? We have some new people joining the choir and are running low on choir hymnals.

Thank you!
