Prayer for
Respect of Life
Heavenly Father, the beauty and dignity of human life was the
crowning of your creation. You further ennobled that life when your Son became one with us in his incarnation. Help us to realize the sacredness of human life and to respect it from the moment of conception until the last moment at death. Give us courage to speak with truth and love and with conviction in defence of life. Help us to extend the gentle hand of mercy and forgiveness to those who do not reverence your gift of life. To all, grant pardon for the times we have failed to be grateful for your precious gift of life or to respect it in others. We ask this in Jesus' Name. Amen.

SISTERS OF HOLY CROSS FAIR The Sisters of Holy Cross will hold their Fall Fair, which is a major fundraiser to benefit the Community:
Saturday, October 15 from 9AM to 3:30PM At Holy Cross Center 357 Island Pond Rd
Manchester, NH Penny Sale, Crafts, Games, Raffles
Sisters Lollipops, etc. Lunch Free Admission Free Parking
After School Fun.... Running Club - On Monday afternoons Mrs. Bonenfant and a few parent volunteers have been taking interested students, grades 4 - 6 to Prout Park to run. They run the perimeter of the park and keep track as to how many laps they complete. It’s amazing how their endurance increases from week one to week six. In the spring Running club will invite grade 3 to participate. We have some track and cross country athletes in the making!
Band - On Tuesday afternoons Mrs. Langlois is leading our school band. We have students playing the clarinet, flute, trombone, bells and drums just to name a few. We are thankful to have Mrs. Langlois share her gift of music!
Peeking into First Grade with Mrs. Lescrinier!
The children are learning word families and new phonics skills in order to enhance their reading and writing proficiencies. They are using manipulatives to solve addition problems. We are studying living things and their needs in science. We are discussing customs and rules and how they are similar in both school and at home. Religion seems to be their favorite subject! Did you know that almost every difference of opinion can be solved by asking, “What would Jesus do?”
We have a traveling classroom pet, Chester. He will be visiting with each child for the weekend very soon! Our Mystery Backpacks (Green Frog and Pink Poodle) have been a lot of fun to discuss on Monday mornings, as well.
To celebrate Johnny Appleseed’s birthday. We will taste a variety of apples and graph our favorites on an apple chart. Then we will make a yummy applesauce to enjoy together in his honor.
This year is off to a great start
ST. FRANCIS OF ASSIS PARISH Parish Renewal Mission

He will explore a deeper understanding of discipleship and evangelization including how effective parish-based evangelization and parish programs can help create a parish culture of discipleship.
