Kind request : Friends, Please understand shirdi saibaba has no specific rules in any pooja or way we show our devotion to him. He is a saint of mercy.People write to me asking for sai vrat katha book.I ask them to search net for online versions.I do not like to do anything commercial. so i ask them to try to get the books in near by shirdi saibaba temple. If you can't get book also try to do this pooja as given below.Instead of book, you can read sai satcharita .Thats what my friends have been doing and its really helpful.

The credit for below pooja goes to the person who created it by saibabas blessings and the person who contributed it . I have just provided sai vrat puja as a service to help shirdi saibaba devotees.

Story behind the sai vrat pooja :

Kokilaben and her husband Maheshbhai used to live in a big city and they had lots of love for each other. But Maheshbhai’s nature was very annoying and he had no sense of talking. Neighbors were also very much frustrated by his this kind of nature. Kokilaben had lots of faith in GOD and she was very religious.

She was tolerating all her problems silently having lots of faith in GOD that GOD will make everything all right one day. But because of Maheshbhai’s nature, their business went down gradually and there was not enough income. He started staying at home all day and his nature become worst. It was an afternoon. One old saint came to Kokilaben’s door. There was enormous light on his face. And he asked for rice and dal (lentils). Kokilaben gave him rice and dal and she folded her both hands and said “namste” (greetings).

Saint replied “SAI will always keep you happy.” Kokilaben said “There is no happiness in my life” and she told all her problems to the saint. After listening to all her problems, Saint told her about

“SAI NAV (NINE) GURUWAR (THURSDAY) VRAT”.

Saint told as follows about the Vrat.

· This Vrath can be started from any Thursday by uttering SAI BABA’s name.

· This Vrath has to be continued for 9 Thursdays.

· Any male, female or child can do this Vrat.

· On these Nine Thursday, individual who is doing vrat can eat fruit/milk/sweets etc. all day long or can have one meal a day. ONE MUST NOT DO THIS VRAT WITHOUT EATING ANYTHING.

· If possible, go to SAI BABA’s temple to have SAIBABA’s darshan on these Nine Thursday.

· At home, do pooja / prayer of SAI BABA as follows.

· In the morning or in the evening, do the pooja as mentioned below.

· Put Yellow Cloth in front of you and place SAI BABA’s Photo or Statue on this cloth.

· Light lamp (diya) in front of BABA’s picture.

· Wash or wipe BABA’s picture with clean water and cloth.

· Put “tikka (Bindi on the forehead)” with “kumkum” (red powder) on BABA’s face.

· Offer Yellow Flower to BABA.

· Offer Fruit or Sweets to BABA as Naivadhya (Prasad)

· Read this SAI story and Read / Sing SAIBABA’s Aarti after finishing Pooja and reading story.

· Tell BABA why you are doing this Vrat and ask him to fulfill your wish.

· Give Prasad to all your friends and family members and you also eat it some.

· If, because of any reason, you cannot do vrat on any Thursday, skip that Thursday and continue from the next Thursday.

· If female is doing this Vrat, skip the Thursday during Menstrual Cycle period.

· On the 9th Thursday, Celebrate SAI VRAT. In this celebration process, feed 5 poor people and distribute this SAI VRAT book among people. One can give 5, 11 or 21 etc.

· Put this SAI VRAT Story Book or printed paper , which you are going to distribute among people, when you do pooja and then give them to people. By doing this, their wishes will be fulfilled very soon too.

· All wishes will be fulfilled by doing this vrat.

In this Kali Age (Kaliyug), this vrat is very effective. This vrat will give desired fruit to doer but doer must have full faith and patience. Whoever will distribute this SAI VRAT book among people and make good name of SAI and this Vrat, their all wishes will be fulfilled.

After listening about this SAI VRAT from Saint, Kokilaben also decided to do this vrat. She started Vrat from the Thursday. And she finished 8 Guruwars with full faith. On the 9th Guruwar, she fed poor people and distributed SAI VRAT books among friends and relatives.

As soon as she finished the Vrat, all the quarrels vanished from her house. Prosperity, happiness and peace spread in her home. Maheshbhai’s nature was changed completely. Their business started doing well. And in no time, they got all the happiness and prosperity.

Both husband and wife started living happily. One day Kokilaben’s sister-in-law and brother-in-law came from Surat. Her sister-in-law was talking with Kokilaben. The former said that her kids were not studying and getting failed in exams. Kokilaben told her about SAI VRAT. She said “SAI devotion will make education better. Have faith in SAI BABA. HE helps everyone.” Kokilaben’s sister-in-law asked the detail of the vrat.

Kokilaben told about the SAI VRAT in detail. And explained her everything about the vrat. Her sister-in-law went to Surat and she sent a letter after few days. She wrote that her children have started doing SAI VRAT and now they are studying very well. She also did Vrat and distributed SAI VRAT book in her office. One of her friend, who had very hard time in getting married, got married to a very nice man after started doing SAI VRAT. Her neighbor has also started doing SAI VRAT and she got her stolen jewelry box back. It was a great miracle.

Joint Pain vanishes

Nisha Jaani, the author of 9 Thursday vrath in Gujarati writes her own experience.”When we have some ailments and we pray to Sairam the intensity of the disease comes down slowly and vanishes completely at one point of time”. Nisha Jaani had a fracture and some of the bones were pricking her legs and was paining, the doctors asked her to undertake a surgery but she did not undergo any. It gradually cured and she did not feel the pain. After few days, she had severe pain again in her legs.Six days she was not able to move and her legs were paining like hell. She did not have the strength or courage to keep her leg down. This was during a summer vacation and her family planned for a tour to Shridi and Rajasthan. But Nisha was very upset as she could not join her family. Then she remembered about the 9 Thursday vrath which a relative had told her,though she had done many vrath for Sairam, she never did this 9 Thursday vrath which involves reading story and doing proper pooja. Then she thought about starting it. She gathered strength and courage and went to a Sai Baba temple. She prayed that if her leg pain is cured before she leaves the temple, she would start the 9 Thursday vrath. What a miracle! Her leg pain vanished when she left the temple and she went to Shridi and Rajasthan. She also climbed mountain during the trip.

Girl Passes in SSLC exam

There was a small girl named Hedal , she was studying in her 10th standard. She had somehow passed her eighth and ninth class but it was very difficult for her to clear her 10th standard. She failed in all subjects in the quarterly and half yearly exams and when her parents asked her she complained that she is not able to remember what she had read. Then she started the 9 Thursday vrath. Slowly her concentration and memory power improved and she started studying well. The same teachers who were complaining now praised her and she secured 75% in her 10th exams.

Cures a tumor

A lady named Jalpa had pain in her ears, when the doctor examined her they found a tumor in her ear and told her relatives an immediate biopsy was necessary and also told the name of the disease. Everyone was scared. Jalpa had faith in Sai Baba and she was very stubborn about undergoing the surgery only after completing the 9 Thursday vrath for Sairam. The 9th Thursday she completed the vrath by giving food to poor people and distributing the vrath books. When she went for a check-up after her vrath the doctors examined her and told that she was perfectly alright and the

tumor had disappeared. After this incident Jalpa’s faith on Sai Baba increased tremendously.

Saved from a big hurdle

Ramesh’s wife used to drink a medicine named Harade everyday along with hot water for her piles complaint.One day she had the medicine and drank water from a glass tumbler.After some time she found that the tumbler was

broken; a small glass piece was missing. She searched for it everywhere.After 2 hours she was having severe bleeding in her stools.Ramesh prayed before SaiBaba’s photo, if his wife’s life is saved,he will do the 9 Thursday vrath.After sometime the glass piece came out and bleeding stopped, immediately he took her to the hospital and

doctor said luckily it has not cut her stomach or else it would have been difficult to save her life.

Transfer got cancelled.

Neela was working for a government organization in ahmedabad. She suddenly got a transfer to Kutch district.When her mother heard that, she had to send her daughter for such a long distance, she got scared and because of this her health deteriorated. Above all this, Neela received an order that she should report in 10 days or else her job will be

cancelled. Neela was very worried, one of her friend came on a Thursday, she asked her to do the nine week Thursday vrath. Neela started the vrath on the same day. In the next week, she got a letter saying “her order is

Oh! Sai Baba please accept my offering, I have prepared milk sweets with lot of affection. I have prepared variety of food with lot of bhakthi. If you ask, I will prepare payasam, sweet pongal and sweets. Whenever I offer food, I will give you the holy water of ganga, Yamuna and kaveri rivers .I will give you wonderful and tasty food .I will give you beetle leaves with cloves and cardamom at the last.I will do Sai pooja on Thursday. Every day I will offer food to Sainath. Happiness flows unto us as your blessings.

1. Oh my lord Sri Sainath! You are tatta deva, son of Anusuya devi !you have arised in the holy place of shridi where devas and asuras used vasugi as rope to get the divine elixir of life !the lord of kali yuga, shree padha vallaba ! narasimha sarasvadhiye, akkalkot swamy samrthane! Oh lord god you are the one relieving mankind from sorrows, the son of allah. Oh Shridi vasa, Please help us to overcome our sorrows, troubles and bless us with good happiness .

2.I have always taken chanting name of Sairam as the highest priority forgetting even my duties, and doing seva to you everyday, doing pada pooja , read your sacred stories and always been in your thought. As per your advice, i have offered food to poor.I have not hurt anybody till now.Tell me,what is the reason for my problems? Have you considered me as dishonest person?Please help me out of this confusion and problem soon.

3. You have attracted crores and crores of devotees towards you. Don’t you have the time for me because of the huge number of your devotees or have I not won your heart? i will not be separated from you for even a single minute. What is the mistake you have found in my devotion? Is this problem due to

my karma? Your grace is sufficient to remove all these sorrows. Will your heart bear the sorrows of your child? Oh Shridi Sai Baba come hastily to help me out of my sufferings.

4. Oh Sai! You have saved the life of Shama, when a highly poisonous snake bit him. Why are you hesitating to help me? Even my eyes have dried after shedding tears. I don’t understand your anger on me. I don’t think anything apart from you. I have surrendered myself unto you the almighty. Please recognize my devotion and come soon to relieve me from my troubles.

5.The devotion that comes out of my pure heart is true. After hearing your sacred stories, I have become your greatest devotee and have fallen on your foot. If you are neglecting me, its injustice to me. if you are not rectifying my sorrows, the world will tease us saying “Sai has not shown sympathy to you and your prayers are false.”The world might curse you which my heart will not be able to bear. Please help your devotee from being blamed. Come swiftly to relieve your devotee from all his sorrows.

6. You have shown your foot and made this fool your devotee. Oh Lord God! You have preached that all the religions are one and same. Please help me to get out of this trouble which I am facing. Please help me out to prove that there is an almighty, you are the truth and the devotion on you will help us come out of our sorrows.

7. Oh Sai! you burn the old clothes and give the most sacred udhi to people to cure them of their ailment. You have always helped people to come out of their troubles. The panchbooth are under your control, you can control the entire life in your finger tips. Please be my Guru and guide me through my difficult times.

8. You told “When I am here do not fear have faith and be patient” I am not a great person to be patient for a long time. Please help me to come out of my failures disasters and troubles. I am in a very pathetic situation so many have crossed me and have succeeded in their lives. Help me oh lord God to have a peaceful, healthy, rich, and successful life.
