SAHRUDAYA is a group of like-minded citizens trying to help the helpless and needy of our

Society. There are 35 members now, each contributing Rs.100/- per month. The group has been

in place for about three months now (from March 2010 onwards), help is not monetary but in

kind at present, as far as possible. Cash is not disbursed but the required medicines, equipment ,

food etc., are bought and handed over. At times, the school/college fee of a deserving student is

paid by Sahrudaya.

The members keep scanning the local newspapers and magazines for information on

persons seeking help. Then a member or two living near the would-be beneficiary check the

authenticity of the information, ground realities, and gravity of the situation. After the survey and

findings, necessary help is reached. Every effort is made to keep the affairs of Sahrudaya

transparent and clean. Detailed accounts of receipts and disbursements/expenditure are kept

which can be inspected by members at any time. Presently, the records are with Sri DSR Prasad.

Along with the accounts, relevant photographs and newspaper clippings are also kept on record.

An attempt is being made to reach all the members through e-mails with details of happenings and

accounts. Members are encouraged to bring in news of deserving cases which can also be

considered by the group.

*Case 1 (Ref No. Sahrudaya/001/24-04-2010):

With reference to the news paper clipping (Sakshi Telugu daily dt.18-04-2010) personal

enquiry was made by Sri DSR Prasad and Sri K.V. Krishna Rao. After confirming it as genuine

case Sri Y. V. Seshagiri Rao, Sri D.V. Bhanu Chander Rao, K.V. Krishna Rao and Sri DSR Prasad

went to the residence of Sri Vishnu Murthy (78 years - beneficiary) at Nacharam on 24-04-2010,

and handed over rice and provisions (worth Rs.1368/-) along with this cash of Rs.400/- for daily

milk expenditure, for about a month.
