The songs on this recording were inspired while on tour around Australia. Thousands of kilometres, varying climates and countless towns of all shapes and sizes not to mention the incredible natural beauty of the kaleidoscopic landscape. Influences for these songs came from some of the major global events at the time. This period was most reflected in our song ‘Let’s Unite’ which was first performed in February 2002 at an outdoor concert in South Australia. We were stunned at the response from the audience for this song and the amount of conversation after the show. Different songs from this album brought about reactions during this ‘A New Beginning’ Tour and we were touched at the amount of people who took the time to write lengthy letters full of emotion and highlighting which songs in particular connected the most with them and what they were going through. At times we were reduced to tears when people confided in us after concerts some of the difficulties they were going through in their personal lives. Another reason why live performances are essential to peoples lives - you never know what another is going through, people hide it so well. Live music and the arts can be very cathartic, a communication on a deeper level.
