LANGUAGE PROGRAMMING

This new voice synthesiser unit allows sixlanguages to be selected and programmed usingthe XR25 :- French (FrA)- English (AnG)- German (ALL)- Spanish (ESP)- Italian (ItA)- Dutch (HOL)

NOTE : - new voice synthesiser units areprogrammed in French,

- they are identified as 2SYP by theXR25.

CHECKING THE CONFIGURATION

Ignition on :- connect the XR25 with cassette n° 15 to the

diagnostic socket on the vehicle and set the ISOselector to S8,

- enter code

- the display shows:

IMMOBILISER SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

To broadcast the message "Important, immobiliser active, the vehicle may not bestarted, refer to Driver’s Handbook", the voicesynthesiser unit does not interpret the operationof the system in the same manner for a 1stgeneration immobiliser as it does for a 2ndgeneration immobiliser

- for the 1st generation, the voice synthesiserunit uses the injection warning light signal,

- for the 2nd generation, the instrument paneluses the red immobiliser warning light signal.

Voice synthesiser units are programmed for 1stgeneration immobilisers when they are suppliedas parts.

If they are fitted to vehicles with a 2nd generationimmobiliser, they automatically alter to suit the2nd generation system.

Once configured for the 2nd generation, they canonly be changed back to 1st generation using theXR25.

CHECKING THE CONFIGURATION

Ignition on :

- connect the XR25 with cassette n° 15 to thevehicle’s diagnostic socket and set the ISOselector to S8,

- enter code

INSTRUMENT PANELVoice synthesiser 83

the display shows:

Enter

to show the configuration for immobiliser system.

1 1st generation immobiliser.

2 2nd generation immobiliser.

CHANGING THE CONFIGURATION

This command should only be used to reconfigure avoice synthesiser unit to 1st generation.

Enter

then and validate with

The voice synthesiser unit is then reconfigured for a1st generation immobiliser system.

- Ignition on, connect the XR25 to the diagnostic socket

- ISO selector on S8

- Enter D17 2.SYP

PRECAUTION

When testing using a multimeter, do not use a test pin on the connectors which could damage the clipsand cause poor contact.

Bornier Elé. 1302 must be used for all testing or measurements on the 30 track voice synthesiser unitconnector.

Bornier Elé. 1302 permits:

- continuities to be checked. To do this, connect the bornier to the 30 track voice synthesiser unitconnector or to the vehicle wiring as for a conventional bornier,

- voltages, frequencies, etc to be measured. To do this, connect this bornier between the voicesynthesiser unit and the vehicle wiring.
