About Safina
Safina Children Home was started by
Safina Welfare Services to support the
orphaned children left unattended after the
devastating earthquake of October 2005 in
the northern regions of Pakistan. Later on
the services were expanded to accept
children from other parts of the country as
well.
Safina’s Vision
To lay and strengthen the foundation of an
institution where needy orphans are
provided with all the opportunities to
develop themselves into visionary and
progressive leaders in all walks of life.
“Whoever caresses the head of an orphan (in affection), solely for the sake of Allah, a good deed will
be written to his account for every hair over which he passed his hand, and whoever treated an
orphan with kindness, he and I will be close to each other in heaven as these two fingers” said
Prophet Mohammad (s.a.a.w) raising his index finger and middle finger

Initially Waqar used to have a lot of difficulty
in coping up with studies. But with hard work
and persistence he managed to always stand
among first 3 positions in his school. Waqar is
now in class 8 of Uswa College, Islamabad and
is progressively on his way to become a
contributing member of the society.

Ali Naqi came to Safina through a
friend of Safina who found him
abandoned by relatives after the
death of his parents. He couldn’t
pass the exam in his first year after
admission. But determined to succeed, he tried hard and stood
first in the same class next year. Ali has now passed
matriculation with 1st division and has moved to Cadet
College Sihala for further studies.
Success Story
Although Safina was originally established for the children orphaned in the earthquake but, since then, there have
been thousands of children who have been orphaned because of the widespread acts of
violence in the country. Due to the lack of resources, Safina has had to refuse entrance to many promising
children and see their talents wasted. Safina’s immediate need is to accommodate 150+ orphaned children from
troubled areas who are waiting for their turn. The only obstacle in our path is the lack of funds to support them.
