Beautiful Homes, attractively priced
Saffron PlaceSchool Lane, Crowborough,
East Sussex TN6 1FL
A collection of 3 & 4 bedroom homes
Beautiful homes, attractively priced
to Uckfield line operated by Southern Railways. The journey to
London Bridge takes just over an hour. For drivers,
Crowborough’s location on the A26, almost midway between
the M25 and the south coast, is an advantage for business and
leisure travel. Gatwick is the closest of the London airports but
all are readily accessible.
There are several schools for all ages within walking distance.
They include three primaries (among them, Church of England
and Roman Catholic), and Beacon Academy for 11-18 year
olds.
Crowborough’s bustling town centre offers a refreshing mix of
independent shops and well-known multiples, including
Discover Saffron Place, a development of stylish 3 & 4
bedroom homes in the well-served town of Crowborough and
enjoy living in the largest and highest inland town in East
Sussex. Set within the High Weald ‘area of outstanding natural
beauty’ and bordering Ashdown Forest to the west and the
Kentish border to the east, the town is surrounded by lovely
countryside yet is well-situated for commuting.
There are several cultural and historical associations within the
area. The famous Winnie the Pooh stories were inspired by
the nearby Ashdown Forest, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
creator of Sherlock Holmes is probably Crowborough’s most
famous resident. The town boasts a statue of him which was
designed and cast in bronze by the international sculptor
David Cornell.
Saffron Place lies in a leafy, established residential area
approximately a mile south of the town centre and about two
miles from the railway station. Buses run from nearby
Blackness Road to the station, which is on the London Bridge
Discover Crowborough, the largest and highest inland town in E
branches of Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Tesco and Morrison’s. It’s
strong on identity, thanks also to character buildings, floral
displays, a tempting choice of eateries and a monthly farmers’
market.
The town boasts three modern venues that are popular
meeting points; the well-equipped library, Crowborough
Leisure Centre, and the Community Centre, which opened only
in 2012. The leisure centre’s amenities include a swimming
pool, gym, indoor cycling studio, sauna and steam room, and it
runs numerous exercise classes. The centre is in Goldsmiths
Recreation Ground, which has a boating lake and miniature
railway. On the 5th November every year, around 5000 people
gather here for the most spectacular fireworks display in the
area.
Imaginatively designed with a smart projection room above the
hall, the Community Centre is used for films, art and
photography exhibitions, adult education classes, drama
productions and much more. Many special-interest groups
hold their meetings here. The town also has a golf club, as well
as a tennis and squash club.
Crowborough has its own small cottage hospital providing
several services, with others available at larger hospitals in
Tunbridge Wells and Haywards Heath.
Interestingly, Crowborough was promoted in the late 19th
ast Sussex set within the High Weald ‘area of outstanding natural beauty’
Chapel Green Crowborough Country Park
century as a health resort due to its high elevation, rolling hills
and surrounding forest, and still excels when it comes to
opportunities for healthy outdoor pursuits. Crowborough
Country Park, a 16-acre nature reserve, and Ashdown Forest
are great for walkers, and elsewhere in the surrounding
countryside there are facilities for horse-riding and cycling.
Other attractions a short journey away include the award-
winning gardens at Groombridge Place, the Bluebell Railway, a
cluster of National Trust properties and even vineyards. The
South Downs National Park, with its glorious views and pretty
villages leading down to the south coast resorts, is not far
away.

A26 Abbey New Homes is a subsidiary of Abbey plc whose
principal activities are residential housing development in the
UK, Ireland and the Czech Republic.
For two generations, the sales sign in front of our Abbey New
Homes developments has become a familiar sight in the South
East of England. With many thousands of homes and satisfied
customers to our credit, we continue to offer ‘Beautiful Homes,
Attractively Priced’.
As a responsible developer we
endeavour to provide information that
portrays as accurate a picture as
possible of your future home and we
would like to point out the following:
Whilst every care is taken to ensure
accuracy of all published material,
we reserve the right to amend or
improve the specification, materials, floor layouts and site
Abbey
plans. Any alteration will be clearly shown on a separate sales
information sheet available in the site sales office. Please note
that interior images shown in this particular brochure are
indicative only and not taken from Abbey Developments
interiors. The landscaping shown on the site layout is
indicative of a matured development and, as with all new
developments, is subject to approval by the Local Authority.
The artist has also tried to give some indication of how extra
planting could be used to enhance the appearance of your
home. As we try to provide as much variety as possible, the
configuration of homes, garage positions, brick colours,
windows, external treatments and levels can vary from plot to
plot. We can therefore only give typical illustrations.
Thank you for visiting Saffron Place. If you require any further
information please refer to the site sales representatives who
will be happy to help you choose a house of which to be
proud.
