• .5 procedures to prepare for and respond to emergency situations; and

• .6 procedures for internal audits and management reviews.

•Documents used to describe and implement the SMS may be referred to as Safety Management Manual. Documentation should be kept in a form that Company considers most effective. Each ship should carry on board all documentation relevant to that ship.

• MCA carries out initial, intermediate (2½ yr) & renewal (5 yr) audits of UK ships.
