Problem Description:An employee was choking while on their lunch break and her coworkers who were there with her were in a panic. Reacting to the emergency would have been faster with some improvements in the area.
Solution Details:The Raytheon emergency phone number should be posted in the cafeteria and break areas as well as a poster with how to assist a person who is choking.

• Monthly Awards • The team with the highest number of implemented
improvement suggestions per team member in each value stream will be named that month’s winner. Each member of a winning team will receive a $50 reward.
• Quarterly Awards • Leadership will recognize the two teams, from each value
stream , with the highest number of implemented improvement suggestions for that quarter during the TEE event. The supervisor of each winning team will present the major improvement suggestions implemented as a result of the teams effort and give the team an award.

• Quarterly Raffle• Every employee responsible for creating an
improvement suggestion will receive a raffle ticket for each suggestion implemented within that quarter during the quarterly TEE event.
• At the conclusion of each quarterly TEE event, a raffle drawing will be held for additional awards.
• Annually Awards• Leadership will recognize the team with the highest
number of implemented improvement suggestions for the year; each team member will receive a “Waste Reduction Team of the Year” shift or jacket. There will be only one team awarded across the business.
