Elements of Key Control
• Avoid dropping, never throw or slide keys along the floor
• Know the number of keys in your possession
• Keep facility keys secured

• Know what locks all keys operate
• Don’t leave padlocks on hasps in an unlocked position
• If a key is lost or broken… verbally notify supervisor immediately and follow up with a written report
• Know key control procedures at your facility
