Children and Babies
Kitchen
• Put safety locks on cabinets and drawers, especially those containing dangerous objects.
• Keep garbage containers in a cabinet with a child-restraint lock.• Always be aware of what your child can reach and keep
dangerous objects out of child’s reach on work areas.• Keep child away from oven doors as some get very hot while
the oven is in use.
Bathroom
• Never leave a young child or baby alone in bathtub.• Keep constant check on water temperature in bathtubs and
showers.• Keep toilet seat closed.• Store bathroom chemicals in a cabinet with a safety lock.
Stairs
• Fit stair gates at the bottom or top of stairs.– Bars of gates should be no more than 2.5 inches apart.– Never climb over gate because child may copy you.
• Regularly check that your banister is secured.• Replace loose or damaged carpet or steps.
Toys
• Buy toys that are age-appropriate to prevent injury.• Don’t give your child or baby toys with sharp edges or toys
made of thin, rigid plastic.• Check toys regularly and always throw away any broken toys.

Outdoor
