SCORM 1.2

Two Course Formats ० Competency Format

– The default setting for all courses, if it does not specify that it is “Traditional”, it is “Competency”

– Course plays a section of content and then asks a series of questions, must get 100% correct to progress through the course

० Traditional Format – Some courses have this format, characterized by saying “Traditional”

– Course plays all of the content and asks a series of questions at the end, must get a 70% to pass

Two Types of Questions ० Internal Questions

– Colored green – Generally a multiple choice or true/false question that relates to a specific frame

– If answered incorrect, learner will be taken back to the specific related content frame and then asked the question again

० Competency Question – Colored red – Generally a multiple select, drag and drop, matching question or exercise simulation that relates to an entire section of the course

– If answered incorrect, the learner will be taken back to review the section and then asked the question again
