The project also supports Aboriginal healthworkers to promote sexual and reproductive health with young women.Training sessions have been designed to giveworkers the skills and knowledge in how torun a Sacred Sistas activities workshop within their own community.

Fun and creative approach to sexual and reproductive health education
While creating art we yarn about the natural rhythms and cycles of a woman’s body, sexual health education and risks of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBV).

Sacred Sistas provides a safe space for young Aboriginal women (aged 12-30) to come and yarn, share stories, seek advice and support and be creative through two art-based activities:
Sacred Sistas Project began in 2012 with Arimaya Yates, a dedicated Koorie midwife, committed to promoting sexual and reproductive health education to young Aboriginal women.
