Stewardship Corner ~
Check out this post from Eric McArdle about comfort and stewardship:
We all want to be comfortable. We want air conditioning when it’s hot and we want food when we’re
hungry. We want the most advanced mattress so we have a great night’s sleep. In our country, in this day
and time, we are not likely to go without those things that bring comfort. We really don’t have to.
Yet, as stewards, we know firsthand that we should not expect comfort in this life. We should be prepared
for challenges and trials. When we step outside our comfort zone, when we strive for greatness as
stewards no matter the obstacle, and when we turn to God during life’s trials, tackling these challenges
only makes us stronger.
In his address during World Youth Day in Spain in 2011, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI summed up these
thoughts when he proclaimed: “The world promises you comfort. But you were not made for comfort. You
were made for greatness!” Heed these wise words...
Stewardship tells us to give of our first fruits, our best gifts, same as the Holy Spirit called to those present
at the first meeting of the Church during Pentecost. In doing so, we can attain this greatness that Pope
Emeritus Benedict XVI speaks of. Don’t settle just for comfortable, make life great.
Peace,
Kaitlyn Wiant

Dear Brother/Sister in Christ,
This week it was announced that Rev. William Lange will be the new pastor of Sacred Heart. Fr. Lange was ordained to the priesthood in 1992 and is currently serving as Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Parish in Aston, PA. Please keep Fr. Lange in your prayers as he makes his transition to Oxford. I wish Fr. Lange all the best in his service to you and ask that you give him a warm welcome when he arrives! This week it was also announced that I have been appointed as Chaplain to St. Mary Manor in Lansdale, PA. I am familiar with St. Mary Manor as my father lived there for a few years before his passing in December. I am looking forward to my assignment at St. Mary's and would ask that you be kind enough to grant me a remembrance in your prayers as well as all of the residents and staff at St. Mary's. I promise to continue to keep you in my prayers! God Bless, Father Hamill
