AGING-WELL

“What the consumer should expect from a home care nurse or home health aide”

Tuesday, September 19th 7:00-8:00pm

Sacred Heart Church Hall Presenter: Margaret Greeley, RN

Join us for the fourth in a series of presentations that have been recommended by Barbara Speedling, a quality management consultant to long term care facilities. Our first meeting with Barbara was held in March. It was met with great enthusiasm. The topics that have been selected for the series are a direct result of the input received from those in attendance. So, if you are concerned about your own aging or the aging of loved ones, this on-going series will benefit you. Whether you are preparing for your own aging wellness, or caring for someone at home, or responsible for overseeing the care of someone living in an assisted living or nursing home environment, these presentations will help to provide you with the practical advice and resources necessary to accessing appropriate clinical and community care and support. For further information, call Sister Kathleen at 718-224-5695. FOOD PANTRY The food chest located in the vestibule of the church serves as a lifeline for the poor of Jamaica, Queens. The combined parishes of St. Bonaventure/Benedict Moor rely heavily upon our generosity. On the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, the auditorium is opened to those in need and they do their grocery shopping. Items in demand are baked beans, prepared tomato sauce, corn beef hash, grape or strawberry jelly, canned salmon, dry milk, oatmeal, pancake mix and syrup. Thank you for your on-going support and concern. Special thanks to John Mitacek who drives to Jamaica every week and delivers our donations. Blessing galore!
