October: Respect Life Month The month of October is Respect Life Month. This month we place special emphasis on understanding, valuing and
becoming engaged with supporting the God-given dignity of every person. We are called to promote life and defend life - from the moment of conception to natural death.
This year’s USCCB theme is “Be Not Afraid – Behold I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Thank you for your generosity and continued commitment to our mission here at Sacred Heart. We begin another three year campaign to pay down the debt on our new facilities. Many of us have made sacrificial offerings for many years now. In doing so we have built a new church, a new school, new social hall and new parish offices. The motto
of this new campaign is “Forward in Faith”. It is faith that has brought us thus far. It will be faith, in God, that will lead us to pay off the current debt. But even more important is God’s faith in us. Just look at what God has entrusted to our responsibility! And we will respond with God’s grace.

How can you believe all this stuff? This is the number-one question Catholics get asked and, sometimes, we ask ourselves. Why do we believe that God exists, that he became a man and came to save us, that what looks like a wafer of bread is actually his body? Join us for Faith, Food & Fellowship on Sundays during
CCD as we read the book “Why We’re Catholic”. Classes are from 10:30 -11:15 beginning Aug. 20 in the Social Hall, Room 103. Books will be available for $4 at class or in the office. Whether you’re a Catholic looking to deepen your
faith or you’re curious about the claims made by the Church, join us as we delve deeper in what we believe.
The next Baptism Preparation Class will be on Thursday, Dec 7, 2017 at 7:00pm. The Baptism Preparation Class is offered every other month for parents and godparents in the Church Fellowship Room. Please read the requirements for baptizing your child. Registration is required. Please call the office to register. Child care will be provided.
WEDNESDAY MASS, MEAL & FORMATION This fall, religious leaders from the area will be speaking each Wednesday night to explain their church’s history, their
doctrine and what their services are like. Don’t miss this chance to follow in Pope Francis footsteps as we meet others in ecumenical dialog and learn more about the faiths of our neighbors here in WR.
6:00 pm - Mass, 6:30 pm - Meal in the Social Hall Cafeteria, 7:00 pm - Formation in the Social Hall So we have an accurate headcount for the meal, please call or email your reservation before 4 pm on the
Monday prior. The cost of the meal is $5/person. Nursery will be provided. For more information, please contact Michelle in the church office at 923-0124 or [email protected].

Padre Fred
