2013-’14 SCA President Bob Battezzato

As we head past the Summer season, I can only reflect on ALL of you that help to make YOUR SCA so great. In my previous message to you all I talked about how it “takes a village” to keep a Vision alive and Successful. Well, you all do that for the SCA, and for that I am Thankful. We all work very hard in our chosen space within the Industry with countless hours and dedication. I wanted you all to know that it doesn’t go unnoticed the time and commit you also put toward the SCA which I will call “extra volunteer time” in giving back to this great Industry.Yes we get networking opportunities, industry connections, visibility for ourselves and company but in the end it is YOU ALL that puts in the time because it is the right thing to do for your Association. It is for that belief and ability to see a greater Vision of giving back that I again Thank You ALL.To the Members:The SCA appreciates your continued support both with time and dollars. Our members are the cornerstone of our foundation. The SCA values that support and counts on it to keep the SCA alive and growing. Remember this is YOUR SCA as I have stated so please continue to give us any and all input so we can continue to serve in a most positive way.

Thank You For ALL You Do!Message from 2013-’14 SCA President Bob Battezzato

President’s Message

Bob BattezzatoBob Battezzato2013 President Sacramento Claims [email protected](530) 570-9070

To our Insurance Industry Partners:Thank you for your involvement in the many ways we present value to the members. Primarily with our focus on Education. We have called on many of you to present education to our members and you all say YES when we call…Thank You for that. It does not go unnoticed, the support you lend the SCA. To the SCA Board:It makes me proud to serve with you ALL. You have put in countless hours to help make this SCA great. Being part of this Board has helped me in so many ways personally and challenged me to grow and lead. Members, this Board always has the BEST in mind for the SCA and puts passion and expertise into all that they do for the association. To the Street Team:Although relatively new, this group has taken on a secondary challenge to help promote the “Voice” of the SCA. We greatly appreciate the extra time and attention you all have given thus far to the success of the SCA for 2014. Keep the Vision, stay the course and most of all stay engaged. To the Committees and their Members:It is the details that make an association great. Ideas can only

be offered up, it takes people to get in and drive those ideas to reality. This is what our Committees due month in and month out. These are key volunteers that help our association pull off all the details behind the scenes in all aspects of the goals and duties of the SCA. Thank you for stepping forward. To those that may be reading this message for the first time:It’s simple….please get involved! Commit to a greater Vision within the Industry we all serve. You will get back more than you give and who knows…maybe make a few new friends in the process.Thank you for reading my message this month and remember to look for us at http://www.sacramentoclaims.org. We have an exciting end of the year planned ahead and would appreciate your involvement……with great appreciate Bob Battezzato, your President.Remember, My Door is Always Open….!

laying on a Summertime Classic theme, the 21st annual Claims Conference of Northern California

lived up to its billing: “Hitting A Home Run - covering all thebases!”. Held in mid-August at the Hyatt Regency Downtown

Sacramento, CCNC delivered on accredited continuing education, industry trade show networking and information sharing, and fun. The dinner banquet and casino night, the latter of which was held at the I-Max Theater across the mall, provided a different twist to the traditional event.

CCNC 2014 President, Barbara Hall, and Vice President, Jack Corry, led the two-day plus conference through a three-track course schedule, providing the latest on Liability and Property insurance claims informa-tion, and more. Keynote Speaker, Adam Greenberg, set a dramatic tone of perserverance with his story of making it to the Big Leagues, only to get beaned by the first pitch thrown his way. FIghting to return, seven years later he was able to face big league pitching once again.

CCNC returns to the Hyatt again next year, August 11-12, 2015. To learn more, or to get involved in planning, contact the leadership of your local sponsoring claims association. Or, get in touch with 2015 President, Jack Corry, (916) 779-3946.

FREE Ethics CE Course@

Certified CE Course TrainerRuth GriffithServpro of Auburn/Rocklin

The premises for this ethics course is that though we may have solid ethical foundations and are capable of making rational ethical decisions, our ethical lapses are likely to come

when we are stressed, angry, upset, worried, or other-wise disengaged.

Each and every day we are faced with decisions that we make that could cause harm to others, or ourselves. Facing ethical decisions can be very difficult, especially with the types of decisions that may seem correct at first, but we later find out were not so great. As we explore what ethics is, I will also challenge you to be prepared to become involved in hourly group activities. The group activities will help reinforce what we have learned, and also give us the ability to better deal with ethical decisions making in our own lives.
