SABO manufactures rotary drum screens of variable

length, diameter and mesh size for screening several

types of materials (mixed MSW, recyclables, compost,

RDF, C&D, etc.), completely adjustable to client needs.

ROTARY DRUM SCREENS “TROMMEL”

Rotary drum screens are used to separate material fractions according to particle sizes.

The process combines structure-breaking and screening of waste to satisfy specific applications.

The operation is performed by the rotation of a slightly inclining drum, running on heavy-duty wheels, moving and lifting the waste towards the outlet. Due to the tubular shape of the drum, the waste is following a semi-spiral route. Once it is lifted to the highest level, the gravity takes over and the materials are falling down causing break-up of the breakable waste.

The same process is repeated until the targeted materials are small enough to pass through the screen (undersized fraction), as the larger and unbroken materials (oversized fraction) is discharged at the end of the screen.

Different mesh sizes and shapes can be used for separating different types of materials (inert, sand, biowaste, stones, etc.). Perforated surface can be fixed or exchangeable, single or double screening, to enable frequent alterations of the targeted screening size. Special elements can be installed inside the entire length of the drum to enhance movement and breakage of materials.

The slope of the screen is adjustable to enable maximization of the screening efficiency. The rotating speed can be adjusted through the use of inverter in the control system. To avoid clogging the mesh, all screens are equipped with appropriate cleaning brushes.

The drum screen is completely closed in order to eliminate dust emissions during operation. Access doors are situated around the housing of the drum for easy inspection, maintenance and service.

Optionally, it can be provided with feeding and discharge conveyors, chutes for screened materials, access stairways, walkways, and supporting legs.
