CHOOSING CYMBALS CAN BE AS EASY AS ANSWERING

THESE QUESTIONS:

What type of music do you play?

· Warmer, darker sounds blend with the music, while brighter, higher-pitched sounds

cut through music.

· If you play jazz, funk, R&B, the blues or acoustic music, then the warmer sounds

of Hand Hammered and HHX are ideal choices.

· If you play pop, rock or other electric styles requiring brighter sounds to cut through

the amplification, choose AA, AAX, HHX (with its ‘Tone Projection’ feature), XS20

or B8 Pro.

How loud do you play?

· For light to moderate volumes: light to medium hats;

thin to medium-thin crashes; thin to medium rides.

· For moderate to loud volumes: medium to heavy hats;

medium to heavy crashes; medium to heavy rides.

· For extra loud volumes (hard rock, metal): heavy to extra-

heavy hats; medium to heavy crashes; heavy to extra-

heavy rides.

· For louder volumes, consider bigger, heavier AA Metal-X

and other rock and metal models.

How much do you want to spend?

There are SABIAN cymbals at all budget levels.

SELECTION TIP: Invest in the best hi-hats, (main) crash and ride

you can afford. These are the cymbals you will play the most.
