For Immediate Release 9/18/2012 SAAC Elects Officers for 2012-2013 Academic Year Monroe, LA – The University of Louisiana at Monroe Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently elected new officers for the 2012 - 2013 academic year. Senior Jade Thomas of Women’s Track and Field was named President for the second year, while senior Jacobi Wilson of Women’s Track and Field was named Vice President. Football junior Jon Fisher was named Officer of Special Events & Finance while Men’s Golf senior Adam McCleary was named Officer of Media Relations. Women’s Basketball sophomore Christina Gray was named Secretary. “I am extremely excited about our newly elected SAAC officers for this academic year,” said Athletic Academic Counselor and SAAC Advisor Mike Anderson. “All of them are exceedingly dedicated on the field and in the classroom and are truly passionate about ULM. I believe the committee selected five outstanding leaders that I think can really build on last years success. SAAC will look to accomplish a number of projects and initiatives this year both on campus and within the Monroe community.” The SAAC is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The NCAA's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's primary goal is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student- athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image. To achieve these worthwhile pursuits, ULM's own SAAC is comprised of a body of representatives from each varsity team and an athletic department administrator. To this end, members of SAAC are looked to for leadership on a variety of issues. SAAC members head up community service projects, committees in Athletics and on campus, and discussion groups on student-athlete welfare. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. SAAC Elects Officers for 2012-2013 Academic Year

Monroe, LA – The University of Louisiana at Monroe Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently elected new officers for the 2012 - 2013 academic year.
