Welcome to another Mixed Blessings term and an especially warm welcome if you are a new member. Our normal meeting pattern is this:

10:30 onwards Coffee and Chat11:00ish Notices, Birthdays, Bible Reading, Prayers, Talk or Activity

12:00 End or (fortnightly) Meal

The activity menu for this term offers a smorgasbord of delicious delights, with two tasty days out, old favourites to relish, new pleasures to savour and all topped off with a tasty dip into your own beloved partialities.

On the 11th June we will spend the day at Branksome Dene. We need to sort out transport for this, so, if you have a car you can take, please invite those without transport to travel with you. If you don’t have transport, try to find a lift and, if you can’t, please speak to John Taylor. Please remember to give your driver a contribution towards petrol and (rather expensive) parking charges.

If you were with us last summer, you will remember the wonderful morning when our schoolchildren came to read us their stories. Well, they’re coming to the church again on 25th June to read us more stories. Don’t miss it!

Now is the time to start looking out some favourite photos, no more than three each, please. Either email them to me at [email protected] or let me borrow the prints so I can make electronic copies. You need to do this well before 23rd July: I cannot show pictures brought on the day. Then you can have fun looking at other members’ snaps and telling them about yours.

On 13th August we cannot meet at the Hub as there will be a children’s holiday club there. Instead, those of us who want to will be going to Holme for Gardens Garden Centre, arriving at about 11 o’clock. Please try to arrange car shares. Nearer the time, if you have spare seats in your car or you need a lift, please speak to John Taylor.

Val Scrivener has kindly invited us all to cream tea in her garden (2 South Road, Corfe Mullen. BH21 3JA) on the afternoon of 20th August. Little parking available so please share cars if you can. Thanks, Val.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions about the programme. These are always welcome. I do let speakers know when you tell me you particularly enjoy something, and I always follow up your ideas for activities. If you would like to give a talk about anything, please tell me. You are great.

Derek
