•  Truck parks quality of services and security of facilities are evaluated and a number of “padlocks” are credited accordingly.

INTRODUCTION

•  The main goal of EuropeanTruckPark App (following ETP) is to handle demand for truck parking services through a common and simple platform that enables suppliers and consumers to share information and manage the delivery process end-to-end (from travel planning, to services booking and payment).

•  Lorry companies plan truck trips in all UE countries and, necessarily, needs to buy truck related services such as parking, refueling, drivers hotel accommodation and so on.

•  On the other hands, truck parks companies looks to find new sales channels for their services.

•  ETP allows to satisfy all this needs with a single and direct platform.

•  The goal is to provide a new platform shared between all the actors involved that allow cooperative delivery process bound to a truck trip to be carried out.

•  Lorry companies could use ETP to plan truck trips.

•  The trip specify the route, the starting date/time and the estimated arrival date/time, and the stops planned along the way. Stops are planned to specific truck parks.

•  To plan a stop, lorry companies managers are interested to verify status for needed services (such as parking into equipped stall, overnight stays accommodation, dinners, …), book them and check the status of reservations, pay with a simple transaction, get bills.

Truck Park Managers

•  A truck park company commonly manage the “park” facility that group together a set of commercial operators (such as hotels, restaurants, garages, gas stations, …). In some cases the truck park company is a commercial operator itself for some other services (such as parking areas).

•  ETP aim to give lorry companies a single view of all services within a truck park regardless about single operators involved.

•  When a truck park company subscribe to ETP platform it should define all service offered and can delegate each single service to a particular supplier.

•  Such players are involved to manage and delivery services about some truck parks offerings. Depending on the detail of the service offered, suppliers can manage service status, booking, buying and billing operations.

•  When a planned truck trip begins, lorry companies managers should assign it to one or more drivers.

•  Drivers can get information about planned route, stops and reserved services.

•  Using a mobile device, drivers, can access reserved services in a simple way since suppliers can share the same information about planned stop, truck tracking, and vehicle information (such as car plate number, dimensions, …).

High level functions: planning a truck trip

•  Once registered, lorry company’s managers can plan truck trips from a starting point at a given date/time to a destination point.

•  ETP allow managers to show and modify the proposed route and store it for further operations associated to a calculated “Trip ID”.

•  Before the trip begin, lorry company’s manager can assign drivers to the trip. In this way he share the information about the trip with the drivers and authorize them for operating with it.

•  Drivers can also set the car plate and other vehicle information in order to inform external system (e.g. tooling systems based on PNR technology) about company owner to charge for any additional costs (i.e. tolls).

•  ETP platform splits the transaction into payment orders for each supplier passing it also the billing address from information supplied by lorry company at registration time.

•  ETP has a proper system of payment, but also we integrate other system of payment, like Fuel Card, Snap Account, and others.

•  ETP platform will implement a web portal to enable lorry company’s managers, truck park managers and suppliers access to functions.

•  The web portal will be accessible using a normal browser from PC, rather than notebook o tablet connected to Internet.

•  A subset of portal’s operations will be available for drivers using smaller devices such as smartphones. Those apps will also implement special functions available during the trip such as real-time notification about traffic, weather, reservat ion status and send tracking information to ETP central server using GPS coordinates.

Public site

•  Unregistered users can browser some ETP portal public web pages. The public site will show the list of truck park and a subset of information.

•  The goal of the public site is give potential users some ideas of the system’s functionality, and use it as showcase for ongoing promotional activities.

•  For those reasons, the public site will allow to plan a trip limited to route definition and get the list of truck park along it and the service available. No booking nor buying is possible but the user will be forwarded to a page that explains the terms of service before registration.
