PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

DID YOU KNOW?

On May 4, 2017, the National Day of Prayer here in the USA, President Trump signed an Executive Order Promoting Free Speech and Religious Freedom. At the Rose Garden ceremony President Trump said, “We will not allow people of faith to be targeted, bullied or silenced anymore. We will never ever stand for religious discrimination.” And on May 13, 2017, while addressing the graduating class at Liberty University, he stated “As long as I am your president, no one is ever going to stop you from practicing your faith.” He also said “when the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth, they prayed. When the Founders wrote the Declaration of Independence, they invoked our Creator four times, because in America, we don’t worship government, we worship God.”

Updates from Fr. Adam, sent out May 14th through Flocknote

Dear Member of the Sacred Heart Parish Family, All my best to you and your family! Included is another update on some of the happenings here in the parish. Upcoming Events: As of Thursday, May 14th- All staff-conducted administrative tasks will be done remotely, to shield them further, in the wake of a rise of Covid-related sick calls I have been responding to. The base of operations for critical parish functions has shifted from the rectory to the Emmaus Parish Ministry Center. If you have a parish- related need you can reach out to staff at their usual rectory numbers and they will return your call. The St. Vincent de Paul ministry’s ongoing operations will not be effected by this change. A request for assistance from the St. Vincent de Paul Society can be left on their voice mail at the rectory as usual. Saturday, May 16th, 3p.m - Sacrament of Reconciliation available in the parking lot. Saturday, May 16th, 5 p.m. - Public rosary offered for religious freedom in the main church parking lot. This short prayer service conducted in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament will conclude with Benediction. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, May 18th, 19th, and 20th- Adoration in the main church closing with Benediction. Memorial Day - Prayer Service of some kind to be offered at Sacred Heart Cemetery, in line with our longstanding tradition of remembering those killed serving our country in the armed services. More information will be forthcoming. Sunday, June 14th- A target date put forth by the Blessed Sacrament Chapel coordinators for the possible restart of that essential ministry. Miscellaneous Considerations: We are eagerly awaiting from the powers that be permission to resume the celebration of public Masses, and will do so immediately after receiving this authorization. Recently, the parents of All Saints Academy students organized an impressive parade complete with a half dozen police cruisers and fire engine. The purpose of this impressive event was to express their great appreciation for the way the teachers have gone above and beyond in serving the students during the pandemic. Way to go ASA teachers and staff! We continue to do what we can to record and post select weekend Masses here at Sacred Heart. Please look to our

In the wake of the pandemic and the cancelling of Religious Ed. classes we decided to start sending lessons home so our children could continue the education of their faith. To engage our children and families we came up with a competition of activities to earn points, and the child with the most points won a $25 gift certificate. Every grade had different activities and each grade has a winner. Here are the winners:

Gabriella Glines Brayden Farraher

Gavin Hanson Ella Hanson Sam Palaia

Ava Hanson Annabella Tran

Madyson Chicoine

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to all the families that participated!!
