About the Institute

S.V. Polytechnic College, Bhopal is one of the leading Polytechnic in

the State of Madhya Pradesh. It was established in the year 1953 and

began offering diploma programme. The college has been the vanguard

of development in technical education since its inception. Considering

the expertise and facilities developed over the years, excellence and

achievements in regard to standards of education and its overall

curricular and technical developments, the institution has been granted

autonomy by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The institution is

very well placed to plan, organize and implement effective programmes

for students and other target groups.

New Hostel Building Inauguration

S.V.Polytechnic added one more feather in its cap,

when Honorable Minister of Technical Education and

Skill Development department Shri Deepak Joshi

inaugurated the new block by cutting the ribbon.

It was a special morning of 22 January 2018 when

college-staff, students , parents and guests all gathered

for the celebration of the inauguration of new girl’s

hostel building. Shri Krishna Murari Moghe , President

M.P.E.B & Infrastructure development and

Shri Veerendra Kumar , Director Technical Education

also conveyed their blessing to the students.

Symposium

S.V. Polytechnic and “Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal”

jointly organized one day symposium on

14 September 2017 in the college on the occasion of

“Hindi Diwas”.Honorable Minister of Technical

Education and Skill Development department

Shri Deepak Joshi was the chief guest of the

program also the renowned speaker in education

policies Shri Mukul Kanetkar guided and motivated

the students.


Workshop

Outcome based education is an educational theory that

bases each part of an educational system around goals.

A Five Days workshop was organized on

“Documentation of Existing Diploma Curriculum from

Outcome Based Education View point” on 15 & 16

December’17and from 11 to 13th January’18 for the

departments of Mechanical Engineering, Modern office

Management and Civil Engineering. Expert

Dr. Prashant Bhave, Associate professor, Civil

& Environmental Engineering V. J. Technological

Institute , Mumbai Guided the Documentation work.

All the faculty members of three departments

prepared course outcomes for their respective subjects

in the workshop.

Faculty development program on Solar Energy

FDP on “Solar Energy-Entrepreneurship and System Design”

was jointly organized by department of Electrical Engineering

Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) and Skill Council for

Green Jobs (SCGJ) during 15-19 Jan 2018.

Technical experts and entrepreneurs in various fields of solar

energy i.e. solar thermal, solar PV were invited from various

states of India. Many faculty from various colleges attended the

FDP. They gained very good exposure to train their students in

solar energy and related renewable energy sectors.

ISTE Annual Convention Programme

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)

MP-CG Section and S. V. Polytechnic College

Bhopal had jointly organised an ISTE Annual

Convention-2017 and a National Seminar on

“Environmental Pollution : Its causes, effects and

control”. Coordinated by Dr. Parul Jain and supported

by Ms.Rashmi Singh on 20.01.2018

Inauguration of Gymnasium

Infrastructure upgradation is the continuous process of our

institute. This year on the occasion of independence day a

Gymnasium with latest fitness equipments was

inaugurated in the campus by the Director of Technical

Education Dr. Veerendra Kumar, also the college website

launched on the same day to provide visitors an easier way

to know about the college.

Plantation in-campus

The color green-is a calming , cool color that helps

you quickly recover from strain . By planting trees

we can secure our environment to pollution. Our

Principal Dr. Ashish Dongre and other members

of our college did Plantation on the occasion of

Birth Ceremony of Dr. B. R.Ambedkar on 14 April

Expert Lecture

Right to information act emerged as a powerful

instrument for taming corruption in the functioning

of public authorities by promoting transparency

and accountability. In order to create awareness

about RTI act 2005 ,one day lecture cum discussion

on “RTI ACT 2005” was organized on 7th feb’17

which was Coordinated by Shri R.K.Tripathi and

supported by Dr. Parul Jain and Ms. Rashmi Singh

Go green….

Trees are valuable gifts of nature .We always

support to proceed in the direction of green

campus & many plantation programmes are

organised by us time to time. This time Honorable

Minister Technical Education & Skill Development

,Shri Deepak Joshi came to our institute for

plantation. He encouraged students to plant more

trees and take care of their plantation thereafter.

Alumni Association Meeting

Alumni association meeting was conducted on 18 august

2018 in council hall. Student council in-charge

Shri A.K.Tuli with other faculty members organised the

meeting to plan for next Alumni Meet. Alumni members

expressed their views regarding necessities of quality in

students for fulfilling demand of industry. Alumni were

appealed to improve attendance for the next alumni meet.

International Conference

Dr. Ashish Dongre and Mr. Saurabh Tiwari

participated in 33rd AUAP Annual Conference

“Developing the Sustainability of Higher Education

Institutions in the Digital Era". It was held from 9th to

12th July 2018 in Indonesia .Dr. Ashish Dongre

Chaired a session with Mr. SourabhTiwari

(Plenary Speaker) & presented a research paper title -

“An Approach to Get happiness and work

satisfaction with maximum output in work place”

.

Excellence Award

Three faculty members Dr. Mukesh Kumar Mishra,

Dr. Parul Jain, Shri I.K.Agrawal received the

Certificate of Excellence

from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay for

successful completion of FDP on

"Foundation program in ICT for education”

and

“Pedagogy for Online and Blended Teaching-

Learning process”

They are among the top 241 performers from a total

of 5308 participants in the program.

Presentation & Publication

Mrs. Lalita Pillai selection grade lecturer in MOM

department presented a research paper on-

“WOMEN IN CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION ”

In a National Seminar at MLB girls college Bhopal..

This paper was also published in a National registered

research journal .

Expert Lecture

An expert lecture on “Traditional Designs of M.P.”

was organized by Architectural Assistantship

Department on 24/03/2018 .The lecture aims to

explore different variety of tribal & traditional

handicrafts and propose interventions to new work.

Students of Architectural department takes hard

efforts under the continuous guidance of HOD,

Mrs. Sandhya Ekbote and other staff members of the

department.

Workshop on Financial Accounting

With the objective to make a bridge between academic

knowledge and professional implementation and to

provide first hand knowledge of analyzing , recording,

and reporting of financial transaction , a workshop on

“Financial Accounting With Tally "was organized

by the department of Modern Office Management

from 19th -25th september’17 .

It was Co-ordinated by Dr. Rahul Johri and supported

by Dr. Preeti Maheshvari & Madhavi Abhichandani

Election Ambassadors

With a virtuous idea of appointing meritorious

students as “Campus Ambassadors”(CA) for

motivating first-time voters to increase voting

turnouts in assembly and parliamentary elections.

Under the guidance of Shri Awdhesh Singh

twelve meritorious student are appointed as

Election Ambassadors.

Innovative Projects

Production engineering student Avish Khan had

participated in the skill of M-CAD (Mechanical

Computer Aided Designing) in World Skills

Competition. under the guidance of Shri

Sharad Saxena, Sr. lecturer in Production Engg.

The world skills competition have five stages.

After state level and regional level , now he is

preparing for National level.

Achievements

Architectural Assistantship dept. students participated in

“Inter Polytechnic Technical Talent Showcase”

which was organized at Women’s Polytechnic Bhopal

Following students won prizes in different competitions.

Educational Visit

An educational visit to Regional Science Center, Bhopal

for the students of Electronics & Telecommunications

Engineering Department , was organized on 1st November

2017 under Industrial visit and PA activities.

On this occasion a lecture on “Job Opportunities” was

also delivered by Shri Probal Roy, Project coordinator of

Regional Science Center, Bhopal .

Student’s beyond grades…


NSS Camp

National service scheme is a noble

experiment in academic expansion.

It inculcates the spirit of voluntary work

among the students and teachers.

It brings academic institute closer to

society.

A one week National Service Scheme

(NSS) camp at Dongara Jagrir village

was organized from 27.03.18 to

03.04.18 under the guidance of our

principal Dr. Ashish Dongre. Many staff

members and volunteers were interacted

with village people and discussed about

their daily need and requirements.

An Introduction to tribal culture..

The Electronics & Telecommunication

Engineering Department organized a

visit of Tribal & State Museum, Bhopal

on 24th March 2018 for the students of

department under PA activity. The visit

evoked keen interests in the students

about the tribal culture of the India.

They felt proud for the techno-socio

aspects of the people living in the

remote areas of the country.

Blood Donation Camp

As part of its continuous endeavor to

serve society, Pharmacy department of

our college organised a programme of

“Blood Donation”, on 12-01-18. All

members of our college Principal,

teaching and non-teaching staff,

students & volunteers' participated in

this noble work. The blood donors were

provided with a blood donation

certificate .

Celebrations


Pharmacy Week

Pharmacy department of our college organised

"Pharmacy Week” programme from 04-12-17 to

12-12-2017 under the guidance of Shri S.K. Manwani

and Shri Sanjay Jain . Many health related activities

along with fun games made programme very enjoyable

for the participants. General health check-up of

participants was done by a team of doctors and their

staff . The highlight of the programme was the

“Blood Donation Camp”, in which many staff

members participated in this noble work.

Independence Day Celebration

We celebrate independence day festival every year

in our college. This year Director of Technical

Education Dr. Veerendra Kumar, was the chief guest

of the programme. He hoisted the national flag on

the college building sharp at 8.30 am. All the

students and college staff saluted the flag and then

sang the National Anthem. Besides, on this occasion

a Gym was inaugurated in the campus and the

college website was also launched.

ANNUAL FUNCTION


The annual function celebration of our college

“RAGA 2018” was organised in the month of February .

This four day celebration made festive fragrance in the

college atmosphere . The talented students presented

mesmerizing cultural events and also participated in

hobby, literary, and sports competitions .

The state BJP Vice-President Shri Vijesh Lunawat and

Prof. B. K. Kuthiala Vice-chancellor, Makhanlal

Chaturvedi National University Of Journalism And

Communication ,Bhopal graced the occasion as Chief

Guests of the programme for prize distribution

ceremony. Prizes were given away to the toppers and the

students who had brought laurels to the college in

various competitions .

Placements

The training and placement cell of our college not only acts as a facilitator for training and placement but also

works towards overall development of the students. It works under the guidance of training and placement

officer Shri Ashish Tiwari . It primarily works as a liaison between industry and institute. Also it looks after

the industry academia interface so that the student can be groomed in to industry-ready technocrats. This year

total 70 students selected through campus selection in different reputed companies , like CAPARO Limited

Gurgaon, Cummins Pune, Sterlite Tech. Aurangabad, Maruti Suzuki Gurgaon and many more.

Besides this many pass out students joined degree programs in different reputed engineering colleges.
