Soon there emerged a picture of a magnificent royal stag. Has your life been stained by an ugly sin? Confess it to the Lord. With working 10 hours per day, the pharmacy fills over 200 prescrip- tions per day, several days during the week. “Broken down, that’s one prescription every three minutes without interruption. It greatly bothers me that I have to ask people to please be patient and to give us advanced notice on maintenance medications if possible,” Wakefield said. “We want to thank the community for their continued business and patience. In the last four years, since the closing of Mahnkens, we have almost doubled in busi- ness, however, new customers are always welcome. I don’t like to keep people waiting, and will do anything to help anyone,” he concluded. Jim and his wife, Cheryl, have two grown children. Lindsay, is receiving her master’s degree at Oklahoma University, is a teacher, and also head coach of the speech competition team. Matt and his wife, Monique, are both pharmacists in McKinney, Texas, and have a son, Mason. Janette and her husband, Win- ston, have a grown son, Nathan and his wife, Erin, who are also both pharmacists in Kansas. Crystal McEntire, is owner of Hyland’s Pharmacy in Wheel- er. She was born and raised in Reydon, Oklahoma, and is the daughter of the late Fred Trout of Wheeler, and Gary and Sue Thompson of Reydon. Crystal graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2002. Prior to purchasing Hy- lands, she worked for WalMart Pharmacy in Pampa as an as- sistant manager. She was also a pharmacy consultant out of Hy- dro, Oklahoma. “I have always wanted to own a pharmacy in a small town, however, I feel small town phar- macies are becoming a thing of the past due to changes over the years,” Crystal stated. “Small communities need pharmacies, however, I feel mail order phar- macies are making it real hard for us [independent pharmacies] to stay alive,” she continued. “We can’t just fill antibiotics when people are sick [to be able to stay in business],” she concluded. McEntire believes that people have misconceptions that mail order saves money, but long term statistics prove that it is not cost effective for the customer. As in Shamrock, Wheeler’s Hyland Pharmacy offers many services for their customers. They have free local delivery, and will open after hours for es- tablished customers if needed. “We have also started doing some compounding and hope to add more services in the fu- ture,” stated McEntire. Hylands also offers a wide array of over the counter products, household items, and gifts. Crystal and her husband, Ran- dy, have two children, Chloe Sue, 4 years old, and Rance, 13 months. Glenda Pinion, an Allison, Texas native, is the daughter of Bob and Peggy Dukes. Glenda graduated in 2006 from South- western Oklahoma State Uni- versity where she received her degree in pharmacy. She joined the staff at Hylands in April 2009. Pinion stated that she and her husband, Josh, are glad to be home and back to the area. “As an independent pharmacy, there are lots of things we can hlep customers with,” she stated. “We enjoy the time we have with our customers and being able to establish a closer relationship with them,” Pinion continued. “We have no automated phone lines...you actually get to talk to a real person when you call, and we also fill special orders,” she added. Susan Wood is the third phar- macist at Hylands. She is mar- ried to Buddy Wood and the live in Sayre, Oklahoma. Susan graduated from South- western Oklahoma State Univer- sity as a Doctor of Pharmacy in 1981. She has been an employ- ee of Hylands Phamracy since 1995. cation the patient is taking will work together,” said Jim. With working 10 hours per day, the pharmacy fills over 200 prescrip-tions per day, several days during the week. “Broken down, that’s one prescription every three minutes without interruption. It greatly bothers me that I have to ask people to please be patient and to give us advanced notice on maintenance medications if possible,” Wakefield said. “We want to thank the community for their continued business and patience. Janette and her husband, Win-

ston, have a grown son, Nathan and his wife, Erin, who are also both pharmacists in Kansas.

Crystal McEntire, is owner of Hyland’s Pharmacy in Wheel-er. Prior to purchasing Hy-lands, she worked for WalMart Pharmacy in Pampa as an as-sistant manager. She was also a pharmacy consultant out of Hy-dro, Oklahoma.

“I have always wanted to own a pharmacy in a small town, however, I feel small town phar-macies are becoming a thing of the past due to changes over the years,” Crystal stated. “Small communities need pharmacies, however, I feel mail order phar-macies are making it real hard for us [independent pharmacies] to stay alive,” she continued.

They have free local delivery, and will open after hours for es-tablished customers if needed. “We have also started doing some compounding and hope to add more services in the fu-ture,” stated McEntire. Hylands also offers a wide array of over the counter products, household items, and gifts.

Crystal and her husband, Ran-dy, have two children, Chloe Sue, 4 years old, and Rance, 13 months.

Glenda Pinion, an Allison, Texas native, is the daughter of Bob and Peggy Dukes. Glenda graduated in 2006 from South-western Oklahoma State Uni-versity where she received her degree in pharmacy.

Susan graduated from South-western Oklahoma State Univer-sity as a Doctor of Pharmacy in 1981. She has been an employ-ee of Hylands Phamracy since 1995.

Susan has two children, Brandi Wood Hernandez of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Cy Wood of Sayre, Oklahoma, and she has four grandchildren, Madylin, Katelyn, Braden, and Isabella.
