DON’T FORGET THE UNBORN
Parishioners are reminded to join fellow pro-life Catholics each first and third Saturday at
9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. to pray the Rosary at the abortion mill at Boulevard and Grove in
Richmond. This is an important witness to the sanctity of human life and can often convince
a mother to preserve the life of her child. Those parishioners who have been there can
testify to the efficaciousness of their prayer. For additional information, call Patrick Latimer
at 262-7628.

MASS INTENTION REQUESTS
Envelopes are located outside the parish office door. Masses
are generally offered in the order received. A Mass stipend is a
gift for the celebrating priest and forms part of your
participation in the sacrifice. The Diocese of Richmond
suggests a stipend of $10.00 per Mass. While a stipend is not a
donation, for our convenience, please make checks payable to
St. Joseph’s. Please designate cash or check on the envelope.
Thank you.

Creation, Evolution
and the Crisis of Faith
Back by Popular Demand. Please invite your
friends and make plans to attend a fascinating
seminar on Friday and Saturday, September 27
and 28, 2013, at St. Joseph’s, as we will host guest
speakers Dr. Joseph Strada and Mr. Hugh
Owen. Special talks will be given from Friday
evening until Saturday afternoon; basically the
same presentation as last February. Mr.
Owen directs the Kolbe Center for the Study of
Creation. These presentations will deepen your
faith in the wisdom and goodness of God and in the
perfect harmony between natural science and
divine revelation. Please mark your calendars.
Children’s Religious Education
Classes begin Sun. Sept. 15th. Registration for
classes after Masses for the next 2 Sundays is only
for non-parishioners.
Rosary Procession, Sunday, Sept. 8th
Please come for our rosary procession in honor
of Our Lady’s Nativity, immediately following
the High Mass. We have so much to pray
for! Also, please plan on participating in a
pot-luck afterward. Details t.b.a.
Parish Library The library door is always open, and the check-out card system (by the window) is very easy to use.
Knights of Columbus Day Saturday Sept.7th . Come for a morning of good works
and fraternity! We will start with a Rosary at the
Abortion Clinic (Boulevard and Grove) 9:00am to Pray
for the Children, Mothers, staff, and the helpers holding
the 'Clinic Support' sign. Special Holy Sacrifice of the
Mass 10:30 at St. Josephs. Followed by a Picnic in the
Pavilion. All Knights and their Families are invited as
well as anyone interested in joining the
Knights. Widows of Knights and their Families will be
warmly welcomed as well.
Isn’t studying the Bible a Protestant thing? It may seem so, but it should not be true. The New Testament was written by Catholics, for Catholics! Since no one is born with knowledge of Sacred Scripture, (and no, Baptism doesn’t give it to us either), this knowledge is acquired only by work. So, if we want to be good Catholics, we have two choices: we can do this work on our own, or we can do this work with a group. There are no other choices. For those who wish to do this work in a group, we have the group for you! Our next course will again be taught by Jeff Cavins, again be lead by the priests, and will again be on Wednesday evenings, and Thursday mornings. The Gospel of Matthew: The King and His
Kingdom. Classes begin Oct. 2, and 3. Binders
(with all the relative lecture notes, and homework
lessons) will be on sale in the coming weeks.
Altar Boy Practices this FALL
Please note on your calendar that the Altar Boys
will meet on the 1st Saturday of the month in
Sept., Oct., Nov., and Dec. Normal meetings begin
with Holy Mass at 9am and end with a game which
finishes at 1:30pm. Thank you.
