Himalaya is a Sanskrit word where hima , means “snow” and “alaya” abode. It is a great mountain system of Asia, forming a barrier between the Tibetan plateau to the north and the alluvial plains of the Indian subcontinent to the south. The Himalayan range includes the highest mountains in the world. The most characteristic features of Himalaya are its soaring heights, steep sided peaks, valleys and Alpine glaciers. Some of the world’s major rivers, Ganges, Indus, Brahmaputra, Mekong, Yangtze, Salween, Irrawaddy river , Amu Darya, Syr Darya, Tarim and Yellow river , etc rise in the Himalayas.

2. Here are some amazing geographical facts: In space a star cluster is called Jewel box.
The smallest galaxies contain 100,000 stars while the largest contain upto
3,000 billion stars.
Small stars have a mass of up to about one and half time that Of the sun
whereas Massive stars have a mass at least three times that of the sun and
some are as massive about 50 suns.
Uranus is the only planet that rotates clockwise.
Saturn is a planet that would float if put in water.
Jupiter has a dark spot called Great Red Spot.
Arizona is a 1.2 km wide meteorite crater, also called Bar ringer Impact
Gaiter.
The atmosphere of Venus blocks out blue light. So if you were standing on
Venus, the sky would look red.
Olympus Mons of Mars is the largest volcanic mountain in space, 600 km
wide and 27 km high.
Aurora Borealis are the tiny particles stream from the sun in all directions.
When they fall into earth‟s atmosphere at the pole, they create a shimmering
colored glow in the sky.
Tit bits => Space is an amazing place. Any free moving liquid in space would turn into
Sphere because of surface tension. Even if you shouted really loud in space,
Someone standing right next to you would not be able to hear you. Find out why?

Year 2014, but what‟s so special about it? Specialty lies in the reason that the
Indian democracy is going to celebrate the festivities of election. India being the
largest democracy has many causes to vote for or vote out the one or other party
or alliance. The main issues are inflation, corruption disorder and foreign policy
but is really voter conscious of the power of his vote. A great philosopher has said
that a vote can move millions of thrones. This time our young voters have to decide
what issues they are having and by their votes how they are going tackle by their voting power.

The term millets refer to a number of inferior grains which serve as food grains
for the poorer section of the society. Millets are annually warm weathered grasses.
They are grown under conditions where the soil is unfertile owing to its sandy or
rocky character. Millets are much more nutritious than rice and wheat. They can be
made into tasty dishes, required no chemicals to grow and can help reduce carbon
emissions.
Let us move to the fundamental question that why millets, why not other food
crops. The answers are many, putting them all together we can say………
They thrive on non- chemical agronomic practices.
In a broad sense, they are pest free crops.
Millets farming is home to bio-diversity.
They do not need irrigation.
They can grow on poor soil.
They offer not only food but also the fodder, health,
Nutrition, livelihood and ecological security.
While other crop food can provide us only food security but millets can
provide us multiple securities.

1. “ CHILD LABOUR ”:- “CHILD IS THE FATHER OF MAN” the famous line by William word
worth. It symbolizes the need of children in building a healthy nation and society.
Childhood is the first stage after infancy. Children‟s mind is like potter‟s clay.
It has to be shaped in a light manner. But this rule of nature has been crippled
by the perilous child labor. They work as milk boy, house maids and cleanness
in hotel etc. We can find children selling newspapers in highways. This is all due
to poverty poor parents put their children to work in order to supplement the
family‟s economic status.
“Our society and nation cannot be grow without stopping the child labor”.

3. Long Life is not important for Achievement
As we all know about the great personalities like Swami Vivekanand, Rabindranath
Tagore Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi. All these personalities are very famous
among us. We all inspire us from many things. But one thing is important for us to
know about. It is very important for all of us to know that long life is not important
for achievement. We became famous when we do something great, sacrifice for
anyone, when we achieve something we do not become famous for our long life. A
person is known for his achievement not for his long life. It is very important for us
that we should do good deeds because a person is known from his behavior and his
great achievements not for his long life.

4. Forgiveness is better than punishment:-
Forgiveness and punishment are the two opposite sides of the same coin of life.
Forgiveness means to forget the fault of others while punishment means to take
revenge
from others. There are many advantages of forgiveness. Some people think that
forgiveness shows our weakness. But, in my opinion, forgiveness is the best
revenge.
It makes the people forgiven feel ashamed from inside. We all in the morning
assembly say a prayer in which the lines come, “Forgive us one sins as we forgive
those who sins against us.” It clearly indicates that those who forgive the most will
be the most forgiven in heaven by GOD, our almighty father. At last, I would like
to conclude with the saying “Forgiveness is the only needle that knows how to
mend and it is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed
it.”

5. My Dream:- Today is independence day, And I had a dream, A lady was in front of me All orange, white and green.
She had the flag of india, And national emblem in her hand. And she told me about many things Like jammu’s cold and rajasthan’s sand.
She’as mother india, I think so. With many people they are standing in a row. Some were hindu, muslim and sikh And some were healthy and some were sick.
She told me that India is, A beautiful thing to glare. But Indians for finding job Roam here and there.
They find work at countries abroad And settle forever there. And forget their motherland Who gave them love and care.
I wanted to ask her, How she felt on this? But my mother woke me up And my answer was missed.
I still wonder about the answer, But I haven’t even got a guess, And as I am growing faster I think the answer is about a mess. As people are making India their slave, Mother India is coming on her knees and people have locked her in a trouble from where she can’t set her free.
6. I CAME INTO THIS WORLD: I came into this world,
Everybody was happy,
A New life, a new world started.
I OPENED MY EYES: I opened my eyes,
Saw the world for the first time,
My mom, my dad got the best
Pleasures of the world,
Surrounded by my gloomy faced,
I didn‟t knew why was it, what was it
I could just see my parents happy.
I STARTED KNOWING THE WORLD: I started knowing the world,
It is bad, it is cruel,
People only want baby boys all over,
Couldn‟t imitate why this behavior,
But something bad was moving over.
TIME PASSED AND DAYS PASSED: Time passed and days passed,
I was growing beautifully,
I was growing gracefully,
Just started living my life,
When my eyes were made to.
WHY ME?
I DIED: I just came into this world,
And I was just made to leave,
Just one question, why me and why Me ALWAYS.

7. THE GENERATION GAP- MOST COMMON PROBLEM OF TEENAGERS:- The teenagers nowadays are becoming self- dependent. As being a teenager, I
myself is experiencing this gap. This gap causes a gap between parent &
youngsters and this afterwards poses as a great threat to the relationship itself.
Teenagers, becoming premature acts like one and led to wrong path which ends up
destructing them. They are in an illusion of doing deeds they are doing for their
well being and ends up self destructing.
The other cause of this drift is lack of understanding in youngsters.
They fail to listen to the precious advice of more experienced parents and other
elders & do what they want to do. Teenagers while undergoing both physical
and mental change, went through many problems which they don‟t let out or
confess with elders and this suffocation led‟s to mental disturbance. This can be
solved by mutual understanding and co-operation.

8. “planning your time”
The commodity of which every man has the least and wastes the most is time.
“Four things never return” says an Indian proverb: - the sped arrows, the
wasted time, the broken word and the lost opportunity. “Time and tide waits
for none”, goes another Indian proverb. The fact us, however, whether you are
APJ Abdul Kalam, George Bush, Bill Gates everybody gets 24 hours in a day.
not a second less nor a second more. The attitude of people towards time is
variable. It depends mostly on your attitude. “If you waste your time, then time
will waste you.” Time is priceless, use it. Time planning should be a very
important motive of any individual.“If you waste your money, you’re only
out of money, but if you waste your time, then you’ve lost a part of your life.”

According to Oxford Dictionary, career means a profession or occupation with
opportunities for advancement or promotion. There are two kinds of people those
who drift aimlessly through life achieving little or no success and others who aim to
climb the top of the ladder of success. People with ambition have clear cut purpose
in their life. They know what they wanted to do and which field they want to opt for
professional career.
The famous quotation: Time and Tide wait for none is very much
familiar to them. They know time is fleeting every second. So, each second force
them to emerge as a winner. Their hard work, preservance, determination, make
them successful at every footstep of their life.
While planning your career one must know what your ambition is after
knowing it.We should direct all our efforts towards the achievement of that
ambition. while planning your ambition we should set a time frame to achieve it.
One should
CAREER PLANNING
know its strength and weakness while planning your career. This is a milestone to
the ladder of success.
All of us might have seen the movie “3 idiots starring Aamir Khan as Hero with
director Vidhu Vinod Chopra in that film, I like one dialogue very much “If
Sachin Tendulkar parents had advised him to sing songs instead of playing cricket
and Lata Mangaeshkar was advised cricket instead of music. We can see in which
circumstances they would have been”. The greatest & philosophical quotes on
career advice is to face obstacles rather than run away from it which implies on life
also we
like rather to choose a simple field in which many people had stepped in but neither
they adventure themselves to do which is not so common.
It should be noticed success in career comes from three things:-
a) Quest for excellence.
b) Skill in job.
c) Character.
The job does not give you status but you should give a status to your job
by performing your job well. Whatever you take up be determined to do your best.
Your career is what you make it!!!

10. Values are must for student life”
The winds and waves are always on the side of the ablest navigator. Only the most
courageous sailors can bring about a ray of sunshine.
“Life is not about finding yourself,
Life is about creating yourself”.
George Bernard Shaw-
Those who don‟t move don‟t feel their chains. The unfathomable mind of
youth needs to explore their capabilities, new ideologies and must understand the
relevance of reaching out in today‟s times. The primary role of education is to ignite
young minds and imbue learners with the curiosity to discover and comprehend the
world around them.
In these changing times, the main purpose of education is to prepare and integrate.
An individual within the framework of the society to qualify them for work in
economy and to teach them values and morals of society.
„T‟ is the education form the
Common mind,
Just as the twig is bent,
The tree‟s inclined.‟
Alexander Pope-
Morality plays an unavoidable role in our lives. It helps us overcome all
major and minor turbulences of life, march forward confidently and design success-
oriented plans to branch out into the future to ensure the mental and spiritual
development of young children, the need for morality and character based education
has become all more imperative.
Youth is a time for soaring high; it‟s an age when noble ideals, dreams and
aspirations beckon us to greatness. Like the bird that needs to be set free that it may
reach the skies, we too need to be set free... free to soar high and fulfil our dreams.
We left behind our childish ways when we stepped into adolescence. Gone are the
times when we had to depend on elders for any little things.
Students should have target in life and then they won‟t suffer from boredom
of life. The real tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. Most important aspect of a
pupil‟s. life to reach pinnacle of success is to have self-esteem. There are moments
in our lives when we feel below and have moments of doubts and anxiety. Healthy
self-esteem flow from a good self-image. You know you are valuable just because
you are you! The basic problem is that people make the mistake of comparing
themselves with other people.
The creator has created each and every one of you with a touch of uniqueness and
originality. Motivation is yet another step to success. In real sense it is what
makes people put real effort and energy into what they do. It is the will to act.
“Life is like a tight rope where all of us do a daily balancing act.”
Tests of integrity room large before student‟s every day. The voice of
compromise will tempt you often, usually to reach some worthwhile goal during
school years. Apparently cheating is on rise in school campuses. In schools,
dishonesty takes many shapes. Characters should not be sacrificed at the alters of
conformity & popularity.
There is no doubt that most precious possession we have is time. We
have a limited quantity of it. It can neither be sold nor bought. It is said that our
inability to forgive a major factor in some of our illnesses. Unforgiveness is often
called AIDS of the soul. Forgiveness is a power that breaks the chain of bitterness
and shackles of selfishness.
Try to be different people may hate you for being different and not living by
society‟s standards but deep down. They wish they had the courage to do the
same.
Within the human heart
Lies the spirit to move the world
The courage to move the mountains
And to be strong at every turn
Rise to the occasion
Always remember this
Who achieve great heights
Are the ones who dare to dream………
11.
Discipline is the training of mind or manners. It is the subjection to rule or order.
Discipline is to bring anything under control.
Discipline is the need of the hour in every walk of one‟s life. Everything from
the dawn to the dusk, from the summers to the winters, from the rotation to the
revolution, each and everything is a part of cycle of discipline which our nature
follows.
Discipline teaches one to follow the set of rules and regulations even when no one
is watching. It helps us and leads us to co-operate with each other, help each other
and develop love for each other. Discipline helps one in becoming successful.
A nation becomes great if its citizens become disciplined. The hardest and
the most difficult form of discipline but the most important one is self-discipline.
For self discipline one should basically learn how to govern and rule oneself & not
be slave of one‟s own passions.
Thus, Discipline is essential for us as will for the progress of our nation.

12. FRIENDS
Friends are like a drop of Holy water. They always come with a blessing in our life.
Every person is meant to cross our way for some reason and we identify some as our
best friends. Best friends can‟t be made we just become best friends. We spend more
than half of our day with our friends and they know our nature our characteristics in
the best way. They are the ones who can define us rightly.
Two True friends are like delta, as the river falls into an ocean; and this
process continues forever, similarly one friend is river and the other is ocean and
they are so attached with each other. The process of their best friendship can‟t be
broken easily. A friend is like a rose in the garden of our life. They come with a
smile and make our life sweet and beautiful.
Friendship is a bond forever just like the bond between the sky and the
stars. Friends are our lifeline spending a day without friends makes us feel so
uncomfortable and it seems as we are losing our breath. In this era of 21st century.
We all are connected to each other through facebook, whatsapp, SMS, calls etc. but
those unforgettable moments spent with each other are incomparable to any
pleasure
of the world.
My friend
The day you came into my life
My life started to move on with a smile
I had so many problems, so many tensions
But the passed away in a while.
While I was with you I enjoyed each and every moment
I just want from god that we remain best friends forever
And our friendship flows like Nile.

13. Important values for children
“Values are the essential elements, which determine the course of our life. It is
necessary to instill important values in children, to help them grow into better human beings.”
Children are like wet clay, you can mold them in any shape. Moreover they are
quick learners and absorb everything around them with their audio-visual senses.
The course of our adult life depends upon what we learned in our childhood. Thus,
the values that were inculcated in us, as children, determine what we will grow up
to become. Hence it is the prime responsibility of parents and teachers to imbibe
certain moral values in young children. Since children tend to mimic the behaviour
of adult, you will need to practice those values in your life, for your child to learn.
Thus, the job of instilling values in children can be both simple and daunting,
depending upon your own approach..
Today kids are very smart they lose their innocence too early and attain
maturity at a very young age. Also in this world of crime and dishonesty, it is
essential that we teach our child a few basic values in order to survive well.
Honesty: - At a young age children are extremely honest and truthful. As they
grow old they enter the world of lies. Hence, it is important to understand the
importance of honesty in life. Assure him that you will be there for him and that
he must not tell lies to get away with some wrong deed.
Respect:- Respect is something that children learn from adults. If we respect
each other and every member of the family surely the child learns to respect his
subordinates and other people around him.
Manners and Discipline:- The importance of good manners in human life
cannot be expressed in words. Simple words like “please”,“thank you",
"sorry” go for a long way in creating one‟s impression in life.
Thus always ask your child to talk politely with others. Similarly Discipline
is also of great importance in building once character. A self-disciplined person is
always victorious.
Sharing:- Today‟s families are nuclear families, working parents who do not
have time for their children try to compensate it by providing them everything,
even before the desire is expressed. Thus the child gets what he wants with no
siblings around there is no question of sharing. The child becomes self-centered.
So allow your child to mix with others, let his share his possessions on certain
Occasions. This way child will enjoy the experience of sharing and caring.
Love:- Love is most important and beautiful quality of human life. It is very easy
& natural to love near and dear ones, but not everybody can love unconditionally.
Teach your child the importance of love, learn to forget and forgive others for
mistakes. Also do not confine your love to human being only, teach your child
to have love for animals and plants around you.
These values can help your child to become a better person.

14. “Live fully So you Can Die Happy”
“When you were born, you cried while the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a
way that when you die, the world cries while you rejoice.”
- ANCIENT SANSKRIT SAYING Does the gem of Wisdom quoted above stroke a chord deep within you? Do you feel
that life slipping by so fast that you might never get the chance to live with the
meaning, happiness and joy you know you deserve?
Most people don‟t discover what life is all about until just before they die.
While we are young, we spend our days striving and keeping up with social
expectations. We are busy chasing life‟s big pleasures that we miss out on the little
ones, like dancing barefoot in a park on a rainy day with our kids or planting a rose
garden or watching the sun come up. We live in an age where we have conquered
the highest of mountains but have yet to master ourselves. We have taller buildings
but shorter tempers, more possessions but less happiness, fuller minds but emptier
lives.
Do not wait until you are on your deathbed to realize the meaning of life
and the precious role you have to play within it. All too often, people attempt to live
their lives backwards; they spend their days striving to get the things that will make
them happy rather than having the wisdom to realize that happiness is not a place
you reach but a state you create. Happiness and a life of deep fulfillment come when
you commit yourself, from the very core of your soul, to spending your highest
human talents on a purpose that makes a difference in others‟ lives. When all the
clutter is stripped away from your life, its true meaning will become clear: to live for something more than yourself. Stated simply, the purpose of life is a life of purpose. I‟d like to leave you with the following words of George Bernard Shaw,
which capture the essence of final message for better than I ever could.
“This is the true joy in life, being used for a purpose recognized by
yourself as a mighty one, being a true force of Nature instead of a feverish little clod
of ailments & grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making
you happy.
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as
long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I rejoice in life for its
own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It‟s a sort of splendid torch which I‟ve got to
hold up for the moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before
handling it on to future generations.”

Srinivasa Rumanian (22 December 1887-26 April 1920) was an Indian
Mathematician and autodidact who, with almost no formal training in pure
Mathematics, made extraordinary contributions to mathematical analysis, number
Theory, infinite series and continued fractions.
During his short lifetime, Rumanian independently complied nearly 3900
Results (mostly identities and equations).Nearly all his claims have now been
proven
Correct, although a small number of these results were actually false and come were
already known.
In December 2011, in recognition of his contribution to mathematics, the
Government of India declared that Rumanian‟s birthday 22 December should be
celebrated every year as National Mathematics Day, and also declared 2012 the
National Mathematics year.

2. Tricks for finding Cube root Let‟s say your friend chooses a secret two-digit number whose cube is 79,507.
HOW DO YOU INSTANTLY DETERMINE THE CUBE ROOT?
1- Drop the last three digits and find the largest cube in 79.This is 𝟒𝟑=64, so the
ten‟s digit of the Cube root is 4.
2- Now go back to the last three digits. Look at the last digit; 7.
3- That‟s the same ending as 3-CUBED.So the unit‟s-digits of your cube root is 3.
Therefore, the cube root of 79,507 is 43.
