Brothers, I hope the New Year finds you well. I would like to thank all themembers of Theodore Roosevelt lodge in seeing me fit to lead the lodgethis year. I would especially like to thank Brother Marty Martinez, RichardGoe, and Paul Gagan in helping me with positions of tiler and counselors. Also, a huge thank you to Past Master Mike Belongia for helping me getready and offering his assistance on anything that I may need.
As many of you know, we lost a brother in December and Past MasterBelongia wanted to dedicate this year to his enthusiasm for the craft. Iknow a lot of things come up and we all don’t see eye-to-eye on all sub-jects, but if we can all come together as Brothers and instead of back roombickering, use that energy to help our lodge and members that need assis-tance, we will be stronger and have more respect for one another.
This year we will be participating in the Entered Apprentice Degree compe-tition put on by Grand Lodge. We will practice a lot and I expect to win thecompetition with just our line officers, no ringers. BE PREPARED.
Thank you again, and I promise a menu in the next issue.

As Washington Lodge enters another year in its long history, I feel honoredto have been chosen as the Worshipful Master for 2010 and hope to carryon the legacy of the hundred and fifty plus Masters that have preceded me.I bring with me what I feel is a very competent officer corp. There are sev-eral Past Masters that I am grateful to for getting me to where I now stand, gavel in hand. They taught me to be strong yet forgiving, judicious and fair, never to think about something too hard, sometimes you already know theanswer, have no enemies inside the Lodge room if possible. Most impor-tantly, when you are sitting in the East you must maintain control. I look for-ward to the challenges this year will bring and sincerely hope those of youwho haven’t been to Lodge in a while would come and see us. We havesome exciting things planned this year. Come on out and give me yoursuggestions and feedback.
