St. CharlesSt. Ann Parish
God reveals himself to us through the Bible. We come to know Him
and ourselves better when we study the Word. Sr. Brigid O’Mahoney
breaks open the meaning of Scripture and how we can apply it to our
lives. The next meeting will be on January 20th, from 9-11am in the
Media Room.
Bring a Bible and a friend. We’d love to
have you join us!
Mark your calendars for January 18th
1-3pm in the Media Room As is our usual policy, if you are in need of a End of Year Tax state-
ment, please call the office after the 1st of the year and we will get it
right out to you.
Thank you for your generosity during the past year!
Adoration of our Lord
“Be still and know that I am God” ...Psalm 45
We all need grace to give us strength to do the Will of God.
Just being in the presence of the Lord, in Adoration gives
grace to us. Spend an hour in Adoration before the Blessed
Sacrament this Tuesday, January 16th from 4-5pm at St.
Charles Church.
Praying the rosary, silent meditation and Benediction.
Do you really love me?
Then Come to Me, Visit me.
Before the Blessed Sacrament
Respect Life
America needs to enact new laws that will protect the rights of every
human being in America, born and unborn. Roe vs. Wade violates the
rights of millions of human beings every year. We must change that
and Civil Rights for the Unborn is working to make that happen. As
Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., once said, “It may be true that the law
cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me,
and I think that’s pretty important.” Abortion is womb lynching and it
must be brought to an end.
On March 10th, at 6:30pm we will be
treated to a concert in the gym at St.
Ann’s by the High Kings– a great Irish
band. It is part of the Syracuse Irish
Festival .
Tickets are available online at Syracuseirishfestival/tradfest
Tickets are $20. and there will be food and beverages.
It promises to be a great evening!! Don’t miss it!
More details to follow!
The Food Pantries at St. Charles and St. Ann are
merging and will operate out of the larger site at St.
Charles.
We will still assist all of the same clients. Food can be left at either
church and monetary donations can be mailed to the rectory or to
Marie Cullen at 404 Parsons Drive. Syracuse, NY 13219.
Thank you for your continued support!

Souper Bowl of Caring 2018
28 years ago, the “Souper Bowl of Caring” began with a
simple prayer from a youth group: “Lord even as we enjoy
the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those
without a bowl of soup to eat”.
Since that day, youth groups from all religious denomina-
tions have collected more than $100 million for local chari-
ties across the country on this, the most materialistic day
of the year. A 30 second commercial this year could reach
6 million dollars. This year our YIM Youth in Ministry group
will take part again in this effort by collecting and donating
all funds to three of the inner city Catholic Food Pantries:
Assumption, Cathedral and St. Lucy’s. We have invited the
youth of St. Patrick and St. Brigid to join us in this effort.
Every penny collected, in every participating church goes
directly to the local charities of choice.
On Super Bowl weekend , February 3 & 4, 2018, look for our
young people standing with soup pots as you exit Church
and help our inner city pantries purchase necessities and
food.
During the game that night, think about those who go with-
out food on a daily basis. By supporting this effort we all
put a new meaning to Souper Bowl Sunday.
