C H R I S S I EF K EN N ow that you have introduced that lucky someone to shooting (you hav e introduced someone to shooting, right . . ? ), it’s time for that person to stop borrowing an ill-fitting gun and start shooting something of his or her own. If that new shooter is a young person or a woman, he or she likely is going to need a gun with smaller stock dimensions, adjustability and a price that isn’t going to break the bank. W e took an AllSport to the range to see what rookie clay crushers are getting. T H E G U N R A C K At the range, the E los N 2 AllSport was a clay-busting machine. The shorter L O P and reduced grip worked well for my shorter arms and smaller hands, and I was able to swing the gun well and acquire targets quickly. Burning through everything from heavy target loads to low-noise, low- recoil loads, the AllSport performed with nary a hiccup. Its weight of 7 pounds 12 ounces (on our digital scale) was enough to absorb recoil but easy to shoulder and carry. For shooters new to the sport who want a gun that not only is comfortable but also offers the versatility to shoot different disciplines, the E los N 2 AllSport would be just the ticket. Price (complete with N egrini take-down case and five-year warranty): $ 3,125. (A left-hand stock is a $ 155 upcharge.) For more information, contact Fabarm U SA, fabarmusa.com. The compact stock has a 14" LOP (adjustable) to the back of a 22mm Microcell recoil pad, and a MicroMetric adjustable comb allows for customizing dimensions. A slightly reduced pistol grip works well for smaller hands. The Turkish- walnut stock on our gun was nicely fi gured, and the water-resistant TRIWOOD fi nish enhanced the grain. The forend is a semi-beavertail with a modifi ed Deeley latch. Checkering on the grip and forend was well done. The gun is available in 12 gauge, and ours had 30" TRIBORE HP barrels (32" barrels are available), 3" chambers, ejectors and a raised 10mm-to-8mm tapered vent rib. The gun comes with two QRRs (Quick Release Ribs) one with a 50/50 point of impact and the other 65/35 allowing for conversion from a low- rib sporting clays gun to a high-rib trap gun in minutes. There is a white Bradley-style front bead and a silver mid-bead. The AllSport comes with ve Exis HP (Hyperbolic Profi le) extended competition chokes Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Improved Modifi ed, Modifi ed and Full all of which are safe for steel shot.
