    Committee Agenda and Structure

Military Staff Committee is designed to test and polish crisis resolving skills of the delegates

participating. Spontaneity, eloquence, creativity and critical analysis skills would be crucial in

order to move forward and achieve excellence. The committee would also challenge the

aptitude of the delegates in the wake of an immediate crisis.

    Agenda:

Originally a subcommittee of the UNSC, Military Staff Committee is designated to oversee UN

missions abroad. However the Military Staff Committee at RYMUN will be having crises

situations which will be relevant to the entire global community. Delegates will be expected to

solve the crisis and pass a resolution. The scope of the crisis cannot be revealed before the

conference but in order to prepare, delegates should familiarize themselves with the following:

    1) Inter Military Co-operation/Alliances (Regional as well as International such as NATO ,NORAD

    and ISAF )

    2) Role of your allotted personality in the National Military Command.

    3) Strategic interests of your Armed Forces, regionally and internationally.

    4) Modern Warfare (types and specifications)

    5) General Military Structures (including operational and administrative)

Since information pertaining to the Armed Forces and their components is not as readily

available as other organizations, the committee dais would expect the delegates to be familiar

    1) There will be no Primary speakers list.

    2) Delegates will be appointed personalities and will act as representatives of their respective

organizations/armed forces. All delegates will have equal voting rights.

    3) Crisis situations will be revealed during the course of the conference. After the introduction

of each crisis situation delegates will be given some time to prepare position statements which

position papers detailing their personality's role in the Armed Forces with reference to the

overall military structure and their Armed Forces contribution in the Global Community.

All other regular MUN rules of procedure will be observed for the debate and resolutions.

    Note:

Position papers are not to be taken lightly as they will play a significant part in determining the

award policy. The Committee Dias will accommodate delegates in instances where limited

delegates are expected to be well versed with their personality and its respective organization
