WELCOME

THE PEOPLE OF MADER RANCHES

Welcome to our 2021 Edition of Mader Ranches Ladies Night! It is with great anticipation and excitement that we bring to you, some of the very best live cattle and frozen lots, that we feel we can create and offer to the breed and industry! We take great pride in this set of females, and want you to know as a potential buyer, that if it wasn’t for breeding over 100 open heifer calves this spring, it would be very hard to part with many of these breeding pieces. When selecting this group, we simply match two heifers up of similar genetics and physical appearance, and we pick one to keep and offer the other. You will note throughout the catalogue, how important cow families are to us! You will see on multiple pages where we offer multiples of full sisters right down to half sisters. The use of embryo transplant and AI has allowed us to build a cowherd based around the top donors that excel in production, foot and udder quality, and easy fleshing ability. We incorporate sires that have proven themselves within the industry, but are also not afraid to try something new that has the genetic potential and proven history in their blood! I have mentioned in past sales why an October sale works so well for our program, and the benefits we believe it offers you, as a potential buyer. Up until sale time, these females have spent most of their development on green grass, which creates a lot of positives when you look at prevention for potential calving and milking issues, it eliminates females that will be calving early in the new year to have to be loaded on a trailer and trucked while in late gestation, and it gives a more realistic look to what these females will look like in the future as cows in your herd, demonstrating their natural easy fleshing ability. It is also critical to us to know, that whichever direction or conditions these females sell into, the new owner has ample time to get them home and adjusted onto their own feeding and management program well before they lay down and have a calf. Our cowherd really has to work for us, as we pride ourselves on running cattle that never see any grain or pampering. They must be able to maintain body condition, uphold strong feet and udders, and excel in production, all while utilizing green grass, fall stubble, swath grazing, and a high foraged TMR ration, with mineral being our key component for health and reproduction. Our herd, including these sale females, are on full vaccination and health program, while incorporating vaccines such as Bovashield Gold, 8 way, and Ivomec. All these bred heifers were done with these twice, as 3 month old calves, and again at weaning. Our protocol is then to do all the bred females again in early November prior to calving. This allows the new owner to these females to get them onto their own vaccination program once purchased. As you analyze the offering this year, you will see, we are holding nothing back! From opportunities like our Lot 1 female, into many of the genetically enhanced bred heifers on offer, right into offering some of the most sought after embryos matings we have produced. The service sires to many of these females is what will offer our customers the highest return on investment, as sires such as the $50,000 Mader Son of Anarchy 144H, the $16,000 CMS Logic 010H, or the home raised Mader Triumph 119H, are responsible for the majority of the matings. Bulls that are bred to calve easy, maintain growth and performance, and offer an abundance of maternal greatness through their optimal genetics. When you look at the embryo matings, we offer the opportunity to gather up genetics on the likes of the $45,000 IRCC Darlin 613D female, already proven to raise them right! Note, that the Mader Lady 50G female was the $17,000 high seller in this sale last year, and in first year of production has weaned off a 900 lb plus bull calf, and has already built up an embryo inventory of around 40 eggs on 3 flushes! Another exciting opportunity is the chance to purchase a flush on the “2020 Show female of the year,” SVS Peyton 77E, the prolific young cow with extreme phenotype and whose first calf sold for $21,000! We have offered our best! With an early harvest this year, we hope we can host you on Oct 21st at the ranch, for the third edition of Ladies Night! We invite customers, friends, and family to join us! It will be a 5pm sale with a steak supper and refreshments to follow. Please do not hesitate to call any of us at Mader Ranches for any inquiries or questions regarding the sale offering or to view them prior to. If you cannot make the sale, we encourage that you call any of our knowledgable sale staff, and online bidding will be available. This is the night we celebrate the Ladies of our operation, please make sure to bring the ladies of yours!

THE MADER RANCHES

POLLED GENETICSHorns are extra work, welfare and safety issues for cattle and cattlemen. Mader Ranches prides itself on its polled genetics since 1974.

FAMILY OPERATION WITH LONG TIME COMMITMENTThe Mader Family has been in the cattle business for 47 years. We have had 32 bull sales and plan on a extensive future with our 2nd and 3rd generation. We work hard to ensure our customers are happy with their investment. We are committed to helping our customers achieve their goals and back our animals.

HEART OF OUR HERDWe have a large nucleous of foundation females and pride ourselves in the cow families that extend down from that base. These females on offer are picked from 150 replacement heifers. They are the best of the best.

DEPTH OF PEDIGREEWe utilize Embryo Transfer and AI extensively to multiply the consistency in our herd. We find that by reproducing multiple daughters and sons from our donor cows and breed leading sires, we can offer consistency to our customers.

ACCURATE DATAWe have invested into cattle record keeping and management so that all of our data is as accurate as possible. We have our herd on the HerdTrax program as it integrates well with the Total Herd Enrollment with the Canadian Simmental Association. All data is available.

Exposed April 17 - May 20th to Mader Triumph 119H. Preg tested safe for January 25th calving. Violet 49H is the breeding piece we have been aiming to create for many years! Her amazing phenotype, starting from a very attractive skull to a very extended front end, leading into so much angularity/dimension/and mass through that middle third, rounding off into a very level hip with great muscle expression. This matron carries all these attributes while still maintaining so much structural integrity! She is so sound and athletic on her feet and legs, and is setting up an amazing udder structure with perfect teat length and spread. Her dam, Violet 641A needs no introduction to the breed, as she too is a true breeding legend. 641A’s first calf, Mader/CS/Rust Cruz 3D, was paraded beside his dam winning Grand Champion female at Farmfair, and went on to make top 5 in the Farmfair supreme, and were a top 10 finalist in the RBC supreme at Agribition. Cruz then went onto selling for $30,000 to KT Ranches. A few other accomplishments of Violet 641A would be her creation of Mader The National 43E, a bull that was heavily used throughout the breed through AI and naturally through our herd, siring progeny with extra softness, style, and superb foot quality. The Boone Pickens x Violet 641A mating was also responsible for creating a $26,000 daughter for Rust Mountain View Ranch. Violet 49H took the 2021 show circuit by storm, winning the Peewee show, the All Breeds Jackpot show, and the Supreme show at Olds Summer Synergy. She then went on to winning the Bred heifer division and took honours in Reserve Simmental Female at the YCS show in Stettler. She rounded out the summer by winning the Peewee show at the All Breeds show in Bashaw, and completed the week with winning the crown of The Lady Elaine Champion Bracket Female, in the inaugural Heifer bracket show! Violet is serviced for a late January baby, bred to an LCDR Witness son, that incorporates our famous Opal 652S donor on the bottom side, which will add even MORE maternal power!

This is a pretty unique female when you analyze her dominant pedigree, combined with her gratifying design. Cows such as LFE Sheila 82A, Wheatland Lady 351N, and Mader Ironsugar 7X are all allocated in this young females pedigree, giving her a maternal advantage. From her extended front third, to her capacious rib shape, underlying a great udder attachment, and rounding out with a terrific foot structure, lead this young matron to be a sale feature! She is bred early to the industry leading sire, SAV Renovation, the Angus sire taking the breed to new levels, including the recent sale of one of his sons, Brooking Emerald, who demanded $95,000 in the Rosebowl event.

AI bred on April 12th to Mader Son of Anarchy 144H. Exposed April 29 - June 2 to Mader Triumph 119H. Preg tested safe for January 16th calving.

Admired for her extra length of spine, her added volume throughout, her second to none udder coming down, and her shear power and performance. The Mary 113B female was purchased for $15,000 at the Cobra event, as one of the feature donors, and has done nothing but excel for our program! Every natural calf this cow has had has been a sale headliner, and her embryo calves have exceeded our expectations. This particular mating gave us these two full sisters that are ultimate standouts, along with two full brothers that sold for $12,500 and $8000 in our spring bull sale. Bred early to the $50,000 Son of Anarchy, this female will take your program to the next level!

This would be the softer sided, deeper ribbed female of the two sisters. She is very powerful as you stand behind her and appreciate her width of base, her angularity and overall dimension. Like her sister, she is very sound and functional on her feet and legs, and is setting up to have a perfect udder with nice small teats. If these girls even milk half as hard as their dam, you wont be disappointed in their production. The Captain Scream progeny continue to impress with their extra performance, large foot, and extra muscle expression. The mating to Son of Anarchy shall be very rewarding!

A very attractive halfblood female here, sired by the industry leading, Brooking Firebrand! We are believers that when you find a “great” bull, backed by maternal excellence, and even if he is Angus, he will do great things for you! We serviced some purebred heifers and cows a few years back to Firebrand and have to say that the customers that bought females bred that way are ecstatic with their calves, and we had an awesome set of Firebrand sons this spring that were very saleable! Mated early to Son of Anarchy will incorporate great cows together, such as Brooking Annie K 390, EA Rose 918, LFE Sheila 82A, and Opal 652S!

AI bred on April 3rd to Mader Son of Anarchy 144H. Exposed April 24 - May 20th to Mader Ozark 39H. Preg tested safe for January 11th calving. Her sleek head and neck, exploding into lots of rib shape and width of top, rounding out with a nice big foot. She is the combination of the smooth made, easy calving sire, WS Proclamation, and out of a powerful constructed, LFE Heavy Hitter cross Opal female. Proclamation was successfully used on heifers with small vigorous calves at birth, with great growth and performance. Proclamation ranks in the top 10% of breed for CE, BWT, WWT, YWT, MCE, MWWT, MARB, TI and API!! Serviced to Son of Anarchy could lead to some great possibilities!

AI bred on March 24th to Mader Son of Anarchy 144H. Exposed April 24 - May 20 to Mader Ozark 39H. Preg tested safe to AI for January 1st calving. Another one of these staple “Opal” descendants! We cannot speak high enough on the impact Opal 652S has had on our herd. We would have over 30 direct daughters or granddaughters now in the herd, and the foot and udder quality is second to none, along with tremendous production and milking ability. This young female is sired by the AI sire Ignition, who has proved to be one of FBF1 Combustibles feature sons. The chances are high of a baldy calf when you combine bulls with some chrome like Ignition and Son of Anarchy. If she follows her mommas foot steps, this heifer will raise you herdbulls! Great feet and legs, capacious bodytype, and will flat out work.

This girl is very proportionate and carries her thickness, muscle dimension, and broodiness very well. Genetics can be some of the funnest things to play with, but when you line up sires in a pedigree such as Heavy Hitter and Godfather, and cows such as Sheila and Opal, you just took the predictability right out of the equation, as those legends flat out produce. This heifer will be an easy find sale day!

AI bred on March 24th to Mader Son of Anarchy 144H. Exposed April 24 - May 20th to Mader Ozark 39H. Preg tested safe to AI for January 1st calving. Attractive fronted, athletic in her makeup, and very easy fleshing, sum up this prospect! I love the foot quality underneath her, the udder coming down has great suspension and teat size, and an early service to the $50,000 Son of Anarchy, is going to be very rewarding! The dam to these two flushmates was our pick of the black heifers that year. In her first year of production she weaned off an 1100 lb heifer calf after campaigning the pair at Agribition. Their dams first calf sold through the Agribition sale for $10,000, to Lewis Farms. As you analyze the top side of their pedigree, you will notice somewhat of an outcross pedigree, utilizing the new AI sire LCDR Witness. He offers structural integrity, calving ease, and strong performance and carcass traits.

AI bred on March 23rd to Mader Son of Anarchy 144H. Exposed April 24- May 20th to Mader Ozark 39H. Preg tested safe to AI for January 1st calving. Similar in type to her sister, this heifer exemplifies the same great foot and udder quality, although probably offers more rib shape and depth of body. They are both moderate in stature and full of volume and angularity. The dam to these two embryo sisters milks heavy and weans off pounds year after year. The Opal females in the herd are some of our most reliable and productive cows, excelling in raising both bulls and females at the top end of the pen. Buy with confidence in these two sisters, I believe the ROI will be quick, especially with a Son of Anarchy calf aside the first year!

A true highlight here, when you combine the prolific phenotype of the SFI Savage sire, to one of our top producing black females, MAF Fancy, a direct daughter of the female maker, NCB Cobra. This young female is put together really nice, with her attractive skull and front end, blending into her superior rib shape and capacity, rounding out with ideal muscle expression and squareness! Her udder is setting up to be great one just like her dams, and her production should follow the trends of her dam, whose last calf was a feature bull in the sale selling to Geisler Cattle Co. Exposed April 13 - June 2 to Mader Triumph 119H. Preg tested safe for January 21st calving. This is a female that seems to stick out every time I tour through this group of heifers. She holds her head proud, she is extremely sound and athletic on the move, and carries her overall balance and easy fleshing ability throughout. Her dam is a great big barrelled daughter out of Olympian, with a very functional foot and udder underneath her. Again, combining power and performance on the dams side, with the outcross pedigreed and prolific design of Proclamation on the top, we get a really well put together package here. Bred early to the outcross LCDR Witness cross Opal 652S son, the resulting calf will be an outcross pedigree with endless opportunity!

Wide topped, long made, feminine in her front third, massive in her rib shape, and setting up a beautiful udder design. The Riddler females are among our favorite sire group in the herd, and as study the bottom side of the pedigree, you will note that the Blackgold 72F female, is a full sister to the $35,000 highlight we sold at FNL a few years back. You combine that power with Proclamations amazing EPD profile and ideal structure, and this female shines in all categories. The potential of a nice black baldy calf beside her creates goosebumps!

Here is a neat opportunity that has arisen. We are offering a flush on the 2019 Show Female of the Year. Right in the prime of her life time we thought this was great chance for the purchaser to excel their program with this right to flush Payton 77E. Her success for our programs has been rewarding with the first born female selling to Canadian Donors and GrassRoots Ranch for $21,000 in the 2019 Friday Night Lights Sale. A son sold to Tyson Scott in 2021 bull sale. We have sold embryos at live auction to average $2100 per embryo. Lady 50G was one of the headliners in last years “Ladies Night,” demanding $17,000 to Ultra Livestock and JK Fraser Cattle Co. Lady 202S is undoubtedly one of the most influential and productive red cows in our herd! We have around 10-15 daughters and granddaughters in the herd, and udder and foot quality are of the essence, along with moderate cows that can that out produce themselves year after year! Lady 50G is the epidemy of that line, as on her first calf, she has produced a herdbull weighing 70% of her own body weight! This female is very attractive through her neck and skull, carries loads of volume and rib shape, and has ideal udder, teat, and foot structure. This female is more explosive in real life than what her picture maybe demonstrates, however I think you get the idea of how soft middled she is, how good in her lines she is, and how she is setting up a great little udder! Epic was utilized in our program for his prolific EPD profile and ability to calve easy. You cross that onto the power of her dam, a Westcott cross Twinkle 594T, and you really get a nicely put together package. AI bred on April 27th to CMS Logic 010H. Exposed April 20 - June 2 to CMS Logic 010H. Preg tested safe to AI for Feb 6th calving. Lot 29 and 30 are 1/2 sisters, being sired by Westcott sons, and both being out of Mader Dictator daughters. The interesting thing about these females, is that Dictator is direct son of our famous Opal 652S donor female, incorporating in great feet and udders, and longevity. At 16 years of age, the Opal 652S cow is still alive and flushing well! This heifer is high performing, long made, has ample substance about her and will be a pound producer like her momma! Her maternal brother this year will be a highlight in the bull sale!

LFE HALL PASS 851G

SVS Brooks Sire of Gwen 64G

Here is an impressive SVS Brooks daughter that was purchased out of the Friday Night Lights sale last fall from MAVV Simmentals. We fell in love with this female for her impeccable udder structure and small teat size, along with her massive body shape, her broodiness, and her great foot design. She has not disappointed us with her first calf, as her milking ability was second to none, weaning off a Limitless bull at over 800 lbs. Gwen is dark cherry red in colour and has held her body condition very well, while being flushed 3 times for us this year, with an average of 7 embryos per flush. The choice to mate her to the $100,000, LFE Hall Pass bull, that lead off the 2021 Lewis Farms sale, was a no brainer! If you like dark cherry red calves that will have extra mass, stoutness, and overall performance, then invest in these embryos!

Exposed April 17 - June 28 to Mader Triumph 119H. Preg tested safe for March 5th calving. Im a believer that this female here could be the sleeper of the whole offering! On paper, her pedigree excels in prominent cow families such as WFL Sweet Licious, SVS Jenna and RF Certainly Flirtin 202Z, and in type and kind she excels in foot quality, an amazing amount of body and substance, along with a deep flank and perfect little udder coming down. The RF Certainly Flirtin 525C cow has been a very influential donor for us, raising multiple full brothers to this heifer the past few years for dollar values such as $10,000, $12,500 and $13,000. Along with that, a full sister to her was highlighted in FNL a few years back, selling for $20,000 to Rancier Farms. That daughter then went onto to produce a $12,000 son this spring for them!

AI bred on April 24th to Mader Son of Anarchy 144H. Exposed April 29 - June 2 to Mader Triumph 119H. Preg tested safe to AI for February 1st calving. Here is a female that was saved to lead off this section of the catalogue as a personal favorite! Analyze her pedigree… with Mader National you get legends such as LFE Riddler and LFE Violet 641A incorporated into her pedigree. On the bottom side you get Stubby crossed with one of our most influential red donors, Crossroads Sierra 524S. This female screams maternal greatness, and if she follows the footsteps of either one of her granddams, she will be cranking out herdbulls in no time! She is hairy, soft sided, carries loads of muscle and dimension, and is bred for a mid Feb calf sired by the $50,000, Mader Son of Anarchy!

Big Timber was utilized in our herd to offer a different genetic twist along with calving ease, maternal value, along with a balance of performance and carcass quality. We would have 7 Wheatland Envy daughters in the herd, and they are admired by many for their excellent foot and udder quality, and ability to produce balanced and sought after progeny. If you calve in March, this female would make a wise investment, adding great maternal traits and genetics to your herd. Wheatland Envy was purchased as the $37,000 pick of the calf crop a few years back!

We will see who actually reads my long winded footnotes, as I mentioned another heifer in the sale that I believe to be a sleeper, and I think this young gal follows that same agenda! This is a granddaughter to lot 1’s dam, LFE Violet 641A, she is also a granddaughter to our matron donor LFE Sheila 82A. Double stacked with maternal greatness! Analyzing this heifer is easy, she is a good one with lots of base, a big foot, she attractive fronted, yet still carries an abundance of rib shape and capacity. She is due early March to the Opal 652S son, adding another great cow family in! Get her calved out, and start flushing her right away! The Violet progeny are limited!

AI bred on April 12th to SAV Renovation. Exposed April 29 - June 2 to Mader Triumph 119H. Preg tested safe to AI for January 20th calving. Another great descendent of the LFE Sheila 82A cow family. Her dam is a very attractive female to analyze, with a near perfect udder, a great foot, and a real balanced design. This female mirrors her dam so much in her type and kind, and will make a great addition to any herd. The Sheila daughters in the herd are hard working, heavy milking cows, and really easy to fall in love with! This heifer is serviced early to the industry leading SAV Renovation sire. Endless opportunities when you combine maternal strength such as LFE Sheila with some of the leading Black Angus cows in North America.

AI bred on March 24th to Mader Walk This Way 224B. Exposed April 29 - June 2 to Mader Triumph 119H. Preg tested safe to AI for January 1st calving. We always have a special spot in our hearts for a deep bodied, easy fleshing relation to LFE Sheila 82A! Sheila offers so many great qualities to the industry such as her superior udder and foot quality, and her overall body mass and femininity! This young prospect also inherits so many great things from the proven LFE Heavy Hitter sire, such as her wide pin spread, her excess muscle and width of base, along with her easy fleshing ability. She is serviced early to Mader Walk this Way, and I feel this should combine her power with his extension and structural integrity. A full sister to this heifer sold in last years sale to Horner Cattle Co for $7500.

AI bred on April 5th to Mader Son of Anarchy 144H. Exposed April 29 - June 2 to Mader Triumph 119H. Preg tested safe to AI for January 13th calving. A very unique blaze on this female, contributing to her attractiveness and overall eye appeal. This is one of those great extra age heifers, that we always brag on, for their enhanced ability to calve easier, milk harder, and breed back quicker based on their size and maturity. Like all typical Heavy Hitter daughters, she is wide pinned, carries lots of stifle and muscle shape, and is easy fleshing. “Snow White,” as our daughter Stella calls her cow, has been very profitable for bank account, milking heavy and typically always throwing some chrome on her calves. This girl is bred early to the blaze faced, Mader Son of Anarchy. If baldies are your thing, have a long look here!

Exposed April 17 - June 28th to Mader Triumph 119H. Preg tested safe for March 5th calving. A middle of February born embryo calf, sired by Boone Pickens and backed by the legendary LFE Sheila 82A cow herself! This would make this female a full sister to the $50,000, Mader Son of Anarchy, that lead off our spring bull sale. Very feminine made, very sound from the ground up, and very attractive and stylish in her type. This female was raised on a lessor recip as a calf which set her back a notch, but I feel as she continues to develop, she gets better with age. She is due early March carrying a service to Mader Triumph, an LCDR Witness son crossed with Opal 652S. Theres a good chance this female could be donor worthy, and I would recommend getting her calved out, and leaving her open to flush for the year!

Exposed April 24 - June 2 to Mader Ozark 39H. She is due mid February to a black blaze faced halfblood bull, that is a son of Brooking Firebrand and out of our Lips Like Sugar 27C donor cow. This bull was a feature in this springs bull sale, and ran cleanup with 30 good heifers. Good chance you might get a baldy calf!

HEIFER BULL! While on the quest to find a red heifer bull to AI to or to walk, we came across CMS Logic 010H, who checked off so many boxes for us! One thing was finding a bull that ranked within the top 30% of breed for CE and BWT while maintaining a low 84 lb birthweight. The other thing was finding a bull that was small skulled, light boned, and smooth shouldered, while still exhibiting some natural thickness, growth, and muscle expression. For a calving ease bull, Logic actually boasts an 818 lb Adj WW. The bonus to this red heifer bull is he is blood red in colour, has a a blaze face, and is backed by one of Czechmates top young cows with a perfect udder and impressive foot structure! His sire, STF Crimson Tide, is an outcross pedigree to most in Canada, and is proving to sire the type and kind that are sought after. This Homo Polled sire serviced the majority of our red heifers this year, and we eagerly anticipate the arrival of the first calves! Take this opportunity to get some of your semen shopping done early!
