GRANDPARENTS DAY

Our celebration of Grandparents Day last Friday was lovely. We had over 100 visitors who shared the morning with us and the students thoroughly enjoyed showing off their classrooms and work with our special visitors. Thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to join us for assembly and morning tea. A special thank you to our P&C helpers for providing refreshments. We hope to see everyone back again next year.

WORKING BEE FOR YEAR 3 FAMILIES Our group of 40 parents, grandparents and enthusiastic children achieved a lot last Sunday. Completed tasks included:

Raking and clearing leaves from the playground and drains

Spreading mulch over patches of bare dirt in the grass quadrangle

Weeding and watering gardens Washing playground seats and tables Clearing leaves from the tennis courts and

pressure cleaning black mould from the surface Re-setting uneven pavers around the tennis

court shelter

Thank you to all the year three families who came and did so much for our school grounds, and to our class parents who organised a great morning tea and sausage-sizzle (with bacon as well!) for lunch.

That was the last of our working bees for 2016 and I thank all who have come at any time throughout the year. The school is a better place because of our efforts.

Year 5 families will be interested to know our first working bee next year is scheduled to be for next year’s Year 6 on Sunday 26th February 2017.
