Transportation Planning is done based on the Order-based Transportation Requirement in order to optimize the requested transports with respect to the available capacity / resources

Based on the Transportation Planning ERP Deliveries are created in SAP ERP

An ERP Delivery (such as Inbound Delivery or Outbound Delivery) is integrated with Business Document Delivery-Based Transportation Requirement

The Delivery-Based Transportation Requirement based on the ERP Delivery reflects the final transport requirement from ERP

SAP TM Request Management Change Controller

The request data received from your ordering party and the planning data for transportation requests can change during the order management process.

The inbound controller in SAP Transportation Management checks whether the transportation requests have changed and assesses the impact of these changes on further transportation planning.

You can define whether the inbound controller automatically copies changes made to the request data to the planning data.

The system can perform the following actions:

Remove the corresponding freight units from the transportation plan Invalidate successor business objects Regenerate successor business objects Issue alerts

Actions are only triggered if the planning data is affected.
